Obviously, since the qunari had to come from somewhere. There's not a lot of information, but there are more details in World of Thedas Vol. 2.

To the south, beyond the Kocari Wilds, is a land of snow and ice, populated by a culture that have some tie to the Chasind — they're apparently exiles of some kind.

To the far east, over the extremely tumultous Amarantine Ocean, there are accounts of an untouched, verdant land dubbed Amaranth. Although this would be ideal for colonization, everyone who has tried to settle it has disappeared.

There is a port in the Anderfels that once did trade with ships of human and dwarven sailors called the Voshai, who were said to come from the west. They only ever came to that one small port to trade for lyrium, but eventually they stopped coming after the Third Blight. Rumour has it the Voshai have re-appeared, referencing some mysterious cataclysm.

To the far north, there is endless jungle, populated by all manner of strange beasts. There are also islands in the Boeric Ocean that are home to Tevinter and qunari islands. Legends also speak of an island called Par Ladi, where the people are very insular and reportedly capable of using magic to cloak their island.

I think the stories of Amaranth that made it to Thedas are just legends and rumors.

An endless jungle to the far north? That doesn't make a lot of sense. Such a place would have to exist at or near the equator.

The only way this would be possible is for Thedas to be located beneath the equator and also be a lot smaller.

1)We don't really know how Thedas works in this regard.

2)Indeed Thedas may be on the bottom half of the world. And this would also fit the 'Reverse Europe' theory of it. There may be several continents and we only so far have a hint of just another one or two, for now.

Hmm well the ancient proto-Tevinter tribes who brought proto-maker worship to thadas came from the north so presumely there is something beyond the seas to the north and then there is the Kossith who apparently drove out the qunari who then invaded out of of the north much later. Also Thadas is indeed in its world's southern hemosphere as further north you go the lands become warmer while further south the the lands become colder.

Thedas is located on the south hemisphere. The tundras are located south while hotter countries like Tevinter, the jungles, and the tropical Par Vollen are to the north.

Well, there is a secret society that communicates with the Inquisition on behalf of mysterious people "across the sea."

They can even recruit/abduct some of your men if you choose to ignore them.  (War Table missions)

Thedas is in the southern hemisphere; that's been well established for a while. Further north you go, the hotter it gets, further south, the colder.

I have kind of assumed that northern Thedas was fairly close to the equator, but it might not be as close as I had thought, depending on what they meant by "far north".

Africa is larger than Europe. Basically.

Where do they come from? What area of Thedas? Why are we just now seeing them if they've been there the whole time?

Ethnic Tevinters like Dorian and his father are also non-white. I'm willing to bet the native peoples of Seheron and Par Vollen are non-white as well.

And those people have migrated and intermingled a good bit, largely thanks to Tevinter's previous expansionist policies. Duncan, for instance, was ethnically a mix of Rivani and Tevinter, but was born in Ferelden and raised in Orlais.

They were always supposed to be there; the engine just didn't render them very well.

For instance, Duncan is half-Rivaini, but he looks like my dad (a white dude with a dark complexion).

One of the tall tales Varric spins about Bianca references Marrabelle from Jade Empire so there is strength to your theory...
