Hey folks,

 

Today we revamped our 3 default chests in the Multiplayer Store.  We’ve been reviewing feedback from the community over the past weeks and months as we offered various types of chests for events.

 

- The 3 default chests have been replaced today.  See the table below for the new breakdown. 

- The potion chests will be updated later this week.

 

*EDIT = The "Requisitions" chest can only be purchased with Gold.

 

These will be our 3 chests going forward.  As always, we appreciate your feedback, and would love to hear what you think of the new structure once you've had a chance to open some chests.

 

If you are currently in-game and do not see these changes in the store, please return to main menu and re-enter Multiplayer to ensure all changes have pulled down from the server.

Literally every single player of this game across every platform has one but me. I'm utterly convinced of it.

 

I bet even the SP-only folks who dragged themselves into MP last week to get the Dragon Props probably opened their free store chest and had a friggin' purple HoK ring handed to them. It's like Charlie Brown Halloween and everyone else gets candy, while I get a rock.

 

I do, however, have two of the gray 2% HoK rings. I have kept them in my inventory for sentimental reasons - the only damned HoK rings the store sees fit to give me. It's sort of sad and ironic, really.

Have you been buying chests since the upgraded loot buckets with the patch? I noticed a marked increase in useful stuff from the chests. I got my second HoK ring (my first was in the first round of class chests) the other day out of a large chest.

The irony? I pulled out a purple Staff of the Dragon and two purple Dagger of the Dragons this week from store chests, so it is finally giving me SOME type of HoK.

 

I just think it's a bit hilarious that, at this rate, all my characters will have weapons with native HoK loooooong before I ever (if I ever) get a Superb HoK ring. 

 

EDIT: Also, I plonked down a lot of gold and Platinum every time class chests dropped, too. Where a lot of folks got their first purple HoK rings finally. But not me. Never me.

Your purples will come, but it will likely be after you have any need for them.

Superb Requisitions A chest containing 1 rare or better weapon, 7 common or better items, and 7 potions 2000 gold 150 platinum

This is what happened to me! Somewhere over 1 million gold spent and only once I had a bunch of items with HoK on them did I finally get a superb Hok ring. Then I got another like a week later

I just want to know one thing.  Did DragonRacer finally get her Superb Ring of Life Drain yet?  I ask because, in my very first Superb Requisitions chest I pulled what must have been my tenth one, along with 2 other purple cards.  Also, if not, then I vote that BioWare should throw her a bone for all her hard work in the unofficial resource threads, and make a special script for her next visit to the supply officer.  (Yes, shameless schmoozing going on here.)

 

On the other hand, I really don't need 5 more healing potions every chest.  I thought some changes were being made to potion drops to give us more of the ones that are below the 255 display threshhold.  I really hate to imagine how many thousands of unused health potions I actually have.

They're live, and i'm loving them so far. The 2000 chest seems like a nice compromise between the class chests and the large chests.

 

Between this and the patch last monday, the game has gotten so much better in a week. The weekend event was also great. Good stuff all around. Keep it up

We've always wanted to have at least one chest that is gold-only.  The "Requisition Chest" is a direct carry over from the previous "Small Chest".  Platinum is there for those that wish to use it, but it's not a requirement.  For those using Platinum, the "Superb Requisitions Chest" is meant to be the greatest "bang for buck".

 

I've updated the table in the original post to clarify that the "Requisitions Chest" can only be purchased with Gold.
