Literally every single player of this game across every platform has one but me. I'm utterly convinced of it.

I bet even the SP-only folks who dragged themselves into MP last week to get the Dragon Props probably opened their free store chest and had a friggin' purple HoK ring handed to them. It's like Charlie Brown Halloween and everyone else gets candy, while I get a rock.

I do, however, have two of the gray 2% HoK rings. I have kept them in my inventory for sentimental reasons - the only damned HoK rings the store sees fit to give me. It's sort of sad and ironic, really.

Dont feel to bad. I have spent roughly 1.2 to 1.5 million gold and just got my first purple HoK ring over the weekend.

Still want a dam shield of the emperor tho.

No Sulevin blade for that matter either. Not that I need it anymore.

No one has mathed it yet??

The old Large Chest had 5 items for 1,200 gold, so 240 gold per item.

Superb Requisitions has 8 items for 2,000, which is 250 gold per item. This is the same rate as the old Medium Chests.

The old chests said they contained "X random loot items," but they always guaranteed 1 rare or better too, I think. (EDIT: They did not. Biower explanation is a few posts down)

I guess whether this counts as a win for us depends on whether drop rates were changed.

I can say from experience they didn't.

So far, in my admittedly small pool of 5 Superb Chests (blew all my gold at the end of the weekend for the now departed Dragon Whisperer chests), I have averaged 2.8 purple cards per chest.  Besides a couple more Superb Runes to add to the collection, and the Scepter of Razikale, I already had all the other items, so it was a mix of good stuff, and high-valued salvage.  After the first chest, thankfully, my potion drops were more varied and I was only pulling 2 or 3 healing potions per chest.

RNG being what it is, I am satisfied with the initial distributions and would certainly not quibble over 240 versus 250 gold per item.

The "Superb Requisition Chest" is the first time we've offered a default chest with a guaranteed rare or better item, and in this case it's specifically a rare or better weapon.  Since there are also 7 common or better items in the Superb, there is a chance that multiple rare, or possibly unique, items could be found in a single chest.  The more chests you've purchased over the lifespan of the game, the greater your odds of finding higher level/rarity items in a chest.

As with the special chests offered over weekend events, we place a small premium on certainty.

Is anyone else on PS3 getting no chest descriptions when you flip through them on the store screen?  The new chest is there, the price is there, but no description.

I don't think the regular large chests had any type of guarantee regarding rarity, only the class chests did. Math on those put each item at 480 gold the first time they offered them, 720 the next time. So, even though the chest as a whole is more expensive, the amount per item is similar to what the large chest was, but adding the rare or better item guarantee. Although the item pool is more diluted than the class chest because the item possibilities are not limited by the class type selected.

EDIT: Ninja'd by about 8 different people.

Okay. Spent the 12,000 I had in gold on Superb Requisitions.

However, the last chest had a purple Maul of the Dragon, so the game is attempting to meet me halfway.

I now have a purple Staff of the Dragon on all mages, a purple Dagger of the Dragon on all duel-wield rogues, a purple Longsword of the Dragon on all sword-n-board warriors, and now a purple Maul of the Dragon for my two-handed warriors. Only my bowmen are crying into their beer.

Fine, I'll take it, Billy. I'm still rather sore I never got a purple HoK ring before it became utterly obsolete for my inventory.

We've gotten reports of a High DragonRacer nearby.  If true, it could be worse than war for the surrounding countryside.  A pissy wyrm, if you can believe the tales...

Just wasted some of my gold for nothing.

Had better luck hours ago when I bought 3 or 4 chest, and got a superb amulet of strength and a second Razikale.

I noticed that if you have all but one char lvl 20 and the char your currentoly playing between lvl 16 + 20 you get better loot, so long as that's not the keeper lego or archer (the 3 starting kits) noticed it some time ago when my nipper promoted all my toons to lvl 1 and I went from getting purple items in every chest to getting the gray junk only, sadly he also salvaged all my gear and I was left with inquisition junk for about 2 weeks ........

luckily he started to get educated about gear progression and finally stopped being a total noob right about the same time as I started letting him smash out a few hours ever weekend on the xbone (for the challenge chests) while I stick to using the pc without his "help" ........

Still no Health belt other than a grey one I got months ago

You just troll him back, darlin' -- you can troll with the best of 'em.  If that fails, break out the tatas.  Or not -- I am replete and mellow with red wine so take my advice if you dare.

Dude, seriously, I just died. I just had a DragonRacer Roast on Twitter by DA's senior writer. Out of freaking nowhere, so he's read this thread or some of his coworkers alerted him to my cries of woe. Either way, comfortable enough to openly tease me.

I'm stunned and giggly. THIS IS AWESOME. :D

It actually is.  Trolling is the most affectionate sort of recognition, is it not?
