Sigh. I've been hoping for a decent sword since day 1 and nothing. I've gotten good and rare items but the longsword continues to elude me. So I give the new chests a whirl and well seems like rng trolls me with not 1 but 2 Superb HoK rings. Sorry DR.
Wow...what about instead of rewarding DragonRacer with a special script giving her a Superb RIng of Life Stealing, they trolled her with a special script that took it completely out of her loot table? Wicked...what price celebrity?

The most expensive chest, replacing the large chest, is called the Superb Requisitions, contains 1 rare or better weapon, 7 common or better items, and 7 potions. It costs 2000 gold or 150 platinum.
Compared to the large chest, it has essentially the same cost per item (technically slightly more but the difference is negligible), but has that sweet sweet guaranteed rare or higher.

When they say 1 guaranteed rare or better, do they mean "90% guaranteed superb runes"? Didn't get any of the new weapons at all.
I also spent like 100k gold on last Saturday. Compared to that, I did get a pile of low level purples (like lv12) but why would one want them? Well, so overall I would say there isn't much difference between the new 2k chest and the usual large chests.
A terrible terrible idea to waste all of my gold in one go Should have stopped when I wasted like 20 or 30k gold. But it's just the sense of gambling and the desire for one of those guard on hit weapons made me so foolish.

If you'd have bothered to read the posts by billy you'd have read that the 1 guaranteed rare or better is always a weapon.

Shows what he knows. Reavers are better off with Critical Bonus Damage rings, even with Hakkon's weapons and no HoK weapon upgrade, due to warhorn panic deathblow guaranteed critical synergy.

Literally every single player of this game across every platform has one but me. I'm utterly convinced of it.
I literally only received the grey HoK ring a couple of months ago after playing from launch, so I'm in the same boat as you.
It's awesome that BW is joking with you about it though... It's not many players that a BioWare employee would feel comfortable enough trolling without worrying if someone will think they are "heartless meanies".
Have you been buying chests since the upgraded loot buckets with the patch? I noticed a marked increase in useful stuff from the chests. I got my second HoK ring (my first was in the first round of class chests) the other day out of a large chest.
Wait....... other people started getting MORE useful stuff when they messed with the loot buckets? That seems impossible to me because every time they touch those loot buckets I start getting even less useful items every time I open a chest. The first time it happened I went from getting level 16+ rares or better in every chest to being lucky if I got a level 16+ item once in every 20 chests. Before you suggest I was/am in a lower loot bucket my gold spent count was around 300k when they made the first announced changes a couple months ago.
Somehow, Bioware keeps managing to take my ONLY serious problem with the game (the RNG loot system) and make it progressively worse and worse! It's like their intentionally trying to sabotage the MP for anyone who doesn't play 3+ hours every day! So frustrating!
Spent about 48,000 simoleons on the new chests last night. Remarkable purple rate that is for sure. Had purples coming out of my ears (also had a 4 purple chest). Two extra heart string bows, about 3 extra dragon weapons, a new shield and dagger I had not seen before, another purple belt of health lots of others. And yes in my last chest of the day I did get a superb HOK ring!
Since I already had two of those though I just went to the Undercroft and gave it to Dagna to be melted down. She mentioned that other members of the Inquisition might be able to use such a fine ring but I needed some new studs for my undead horses horse shoes so we just melted the sucker down instead.
