Who knows? Maybe we will return to Milky Way in ME5  :P

Doubt ME:A will be a standalone.

Well Andromeda is larger than the Milky Way. So look at it as moving into a bigger house.

Hehehe looks like it but so far it seems like we threw a big party, had a great fun and instead of cleaning the mess we just moved to another house.

Are we going to have a bigger mess in a bigger house now and then move to another one then?

alright, the game takes place in a galaxy far far away.... away from the complexity of Milkyway and Shepard.

We are now a pathfinder bringing democracy to Andromeda and everyone in it. We start a war, we build our story, we get married to aliens, good ending or bad ending whatever...

sooooo now what?

we ended Andromeda.... what's next? how the hell are we going to progress? I mean the Milkyway is now gone [Before yall bash me "MILKYWAY IS OVERRATED" I think it is completely gone based on the actions of Bioware it seems they have no plans in going back.] just to avoid the sh** storm they started like 2 years ago.

now what... sooooo the next next Mass Effect will just be about colonizing/invading more different galaxies then to infinity and beyond without us ever going back to our overrated galaxy ever again?

Assuming they learn from the mistakes of ME3 they don't need to always use a change in location to reset the series.

The main problem with ME3's endings wasn't their poor implementations it was creating 4 vastly divergent endings to choose from. When you look at eh 4 endings there is no story you could create that could be set in all 4 possible end states. Which is the bigger mistake of the endings than their poorly received implementation, because if they were implemented in a way that players loved we would still have this issue.

So long as the second series ends in a manner that no choice of ending is so different from any other ending that a future story couldn't fit in all possible endings then they don't need to change locations again.

Also the reapers crisis was on a scale that is huge as it is galaxy wide in scale, yet really great stories don't have to be that wide of scale to be interesting and enjoyable. Nothing says we have to take the ME series down this scale yet again.

Remeber these rising towers from the trailer:

...

What makes you think there aren't already well established democratic societies in Andromeda?

More like a PMC leading a bunch of survivors seeking asylum from the Reaper threat by fleeing to the Andromeda galaxy; yup we are in fact going to play "boat people" and (illegal) immigrants when you get right down to it.

... bringing democracy my a*se.

Heh - I hope that's what the OP meant ... I was more thinking along the lines of:

The Ark has safely arrived in the Andromeda galaxy at Kos-port:

[paragon] attempt to create peaceful negotiations with any sentient indigenous life and establish a settlement

[renegade] sell the passengers into prostitution/slavery or just fleece them, dump them and fly off elsewhere

Bioware will somehow screw up and abandon Andromeda because they don't want to deal with their mess.
