Suggestion: Bring back cuddles. Why do LIs revert post-ending?

In the grand scheme, is this a game breaker?  Probably not.  Will it make for a happy gamer?  Yep!! :D

Pretty much the title. I have never been inclined to play after the main story, and the main reason is because the companion characters all zombify. Particularly annoying is the LI interaction.  Rather, the complete lack thereof.

Up until the post-game, your character can have a quick cuddle-time with your LI at any point.  It helped with immersion, and was a nice cutscene, to provide a much-needed break from the battling and resource grinding.

After the game, even with questing left to do, your companions just.....exist. But when your Quizzy's LI starts treating him/her as a nobody again, it's really....sad.

All that effort to woo....gone.  Thedas becomes a lonely place in the face of such indifference. :crying:

And immersion dies even further with your hard-won happy ending being lost to oblivious mechanical behavior. I'm an RPG groupie.  I need my immersion!

So, suggestion: (unless its a bug, and in that case, please let me know and I'll turn in a bug report):

Please bring back the option to cuddle with your love interest.  It's right off the conversation wheel, and nothing new needs coded.

Thank you!

I'm hoping for a DLC that allows me to woo the dwarves that so need to be eligible for being swept off their feet. I don't mean Varric in either of those, I want to woo Lace and Dagna because we have yet to have a romance-able dwarf in the series, and at least one of them is bi-sexual (based on her banter) so she could be meant for an Inquisitor of either gender.

If the lack of cuddling later is a bug, I think it affects everyone because I've cleared the game twice and in both encounters the honeymoon is over after Cory goes down. I'm wondering if its a case of "If the Solas lovers get boned, everyone does"

Yes yes yes.

Cuddles and Roof times would make post ending visits much more fun.

Does the "mood killer" carry over into Jaws of Hakkon as well? In any case, the romances need to be restored.

Agreed 100%. Normally, I'd just agree that all the companions sort of die after the game, which is bad enough. But this playthrough, for the first time, I'm romancing someone (Cullen). Combine that with the fact that also for the first time, I may not do a completionist playthrough, but may come back when I'm bored and finish all the quests up after the main game, I fully support the post-game not feeling so dead, and this would help.

I wouldn't say that they "revert," since you do get an initial line for the first click that (may or may not, I've only seen Dorian's) relate to the romance. Having them say just a single, repeatable line on-click, particularly for the LI, is quite a bummer.

What I don't understand about it is that the post-game can be a strong feature. You certainly don't have to do everything before the final mission, and it would help with the feeling of the Inquisition continuing onward after Corypheus is defeated. But it's really not the same, and also having Skyhold bug out and require a re-zone to fix it is also a bummer and kills off the feeling of post-game play.

For me the post-game will only be about seeing the various DLC and different dialogs in it. My first play of JoH was peri-play, during which I discovered that the actual plot of the DLC lends itself to being played in post, and I will probably do this for all of the DLC that allow me this option to see the difference.

There is some romance-alternate banter in JoH, but it's not like you can click on the followers while you're running around anyway (as in DAO), so it's not really noticeable. Frostback Basin plays just as any other of the maps in that regard.

Yeah, but I wonder if the romance-related banter will still fire post-game in that area. For mine, Bull would point out that Cass is getting another eye-full of Inquisi-butt. Although this banter already fired for me in Crestwood... right after I jumped up on a raised platform in front of Cassandra, ironically.

^ No, I was referring to location-specific romance banter (or well... location commentary), like the one I linked in the post. To get that you need to walk on one of the giant vines in the western portion of Frostback Basin. As for the normal banter, including the romance-related ones, I can't answer that; most of mine had already fired by the time I played the map with my fav team (including LI), so it was pretty quiet most of the time.

In DA:O Leliana/Zevran lovers could have their warm dialogues with them during the post game even if Morrigan and Alistair had left, therefore I don't think they have ever bothered about.. equity :D

Morrigan got an entire dlc to her name post main game, and you only made Alistair leave if you wanted to :P Also is the word you're seeking equality?

In general I think itsa major bore that the game completely dies after finishing the main quest. This is such a major mistake.

In Witcher 3 (and Skyrim for that sake) you can continue playing and finishing quests. The world is still active. DAI dies when finishing.

... and no: I don't like multiplayer.

The Witcher 3 is a decent game, but it has too much content; too much in fact that it bored me into stopping my first play-through. As for it continuing post game stuff, that's because they already have two full fledged expansions planned (and possibly canned) so if they just cut you off because then you'd have no real reason to play the post game content.

Dragon Age Inquisition even for its faults had just enough to keep me engaged for about 140 hours between two play-throughs; The Witcher 3 hit the 40 hour mark and I said "Nope, this wraith just needs to be a wraith" instead of being forced into dealing with background information that I didn't need to kill the beast. The background information that just made me want to hunt down the criminal and his immediate family and terminate them from The Witcher 3's world, which it wouldn't let me do because the character that turned this poor girl into a wraith isn't an NPC you can Find or Interact with.

I may go back to The Witcher 3 eventually and my opinion may change but for now I'm sticking with DA ( I like multiplayer, and the main game). They put too much content on the plate for The Witcher, and yes there is such a thing.

I hope that DA finds it's feet once again and we don't get this same style of game again (DA Skyrim Style was a flop), but I'm willing to give them another shot.

The best option was ME2 post game, when you could invite your LI in your room and spend your time with her/him.

Thanks for the great feedback all!  It's nice to see support for such a simple pleasure in the game.  It would be fantastic if this could be added back.  In the meantime, I can just picture a lot of our lonely Inquisitor's hanging at the tavern, sighing into their tankards.

Or maybe heading to the Blooming Rose.

You know how it is. :D

^The only save I've made post epilogue is right where the game drops you afterward. So I haven't talked to anyone yet and saved it. But when it finally comes time to give up my exploits and download Jaws of Hakkon, I think my Inquisitor and Cassandra will be spending their time together in their favorite (head canon) spot in the Hissing Wastes staring into space, along with other head canon activities.
