Humans, and I guess turians and asari can tag along if they want.

Human, salarian, turian. I also bring geth, because life support doesn't matter for AI

Humans because we arez special, Quarians because of their expertise in ark-like space living, and Asari, because with them on board knowledge of the original mission and the Milky Way is guaranteed to last at least 1000 years.  The Geth were contenders, but then I remembered 2001 and I'd rather not take that chance.

Premise doesn't make much sense but W/E. Species I'd bring....

1) Quarians because of being best at everything, and especially best at living in space.
2)Their geth servants, because they're useful and logistically non taxing as long as they remain mindful of their rightful place of servility.
3) Moar quarians. If I have to pick someone else then turians, because they eat the same food, drink the same drink and accept same medications, which greatly simplifies logistics again. 

As for races...well I quite like the Belgian Grand Prix, Isle of Man TT, and the 24h @ Nurburgring I guess. Much more difficult to pick 3 there.

Drell, Quarians and Volus: The athletic team, the sexy foreign students and the school mascot.

Elcor and Hanar: Depressed guidance councillors and in the cafeteria, being served with chips.

Quarians (tech experts, plenty of experience maintaining ships while in space), Krogan (shock troops (if necessary), heavy-lifters), and Turians (police force, strategists).

 

This is mostly based on personal preference, but the setup can actually work, provided the Krogan cooperate (better make sure that Bakara is on the Ark too...).  All the other races can be harvested by the Reapers, for all I really care.

Practical choice -  

 

Humans because they are the most diverse and fast breeding once boots hit ground,  Asari because of the long life span gives mission continuity,  and then it is a fight to the death between the Salarians for the science stuff or the Quarians for the experience in long term space living.

 

 

Personal choice -  

 

Humans because thats my preferred player race, Turians because they are just awesome, and the Volus because I need to hear the phrase "I am a biotic god" again

Fill it up with as many humans as possible because human master race.
