She is a Wildcard and has a Phd in Psychiatry plus she is a gymnast who is a brawler. you want a sexy Mick Folley on your team.plus this gets the fangirls to cosplay more.

There is no Phd for psychiatry. There is a Phd/PsyD for Psychology, but for psychiatry it's MD.

Speaking of Harley, I found this piece on why Suicide Squad's Harley is Un-Harley

http://www.wired.com...-suicide-squad/

Basically this is saying Robbie's Harley is less funny?

Well, they have been trying to make Harley a bit more of her own character in the comics. Which translates to her being less of a "funny" character, but some people still prefer the goofy female sidekick of Joker for some odd reason.

Margot Robbie looks pretty much exactly right to play Harley.  Plus Katana.  We'll see how it turns out.

While I've just about hit saturation point with comic book movies, the rest of the world apparently hasn't.

This still looks better than Batman v Superman.  I'm tentatively excited about Wonder Woman, but I'm sure I'll just be disappointed, especially because Jesse Eisenberg is just about singlehandedly tanking that one for me.

I think the best thing that could be said for this movie is that conceptually-at least- it's different most of our other comic book movies. We've gotten the team films (Avengers, X-Men), the sequels, and obviously the solo films, but we haven't yet (to my knowledge) had a villain-centric comic film.

For that reason, this could be a nice change of pace. That said, as a Nolan fan boy, the trailer doesn't really leave me with a  very positive impression.

I don't mind either version as long as it's done well. I will say I'm more partial to the goof-ball psycho original to the more "serious" takes on her. But who knows.

This movie looks great. Way better than the Batman vs Superman one. Harley Quinn hitting the big screen will be awesome.

My problem is this: the trailer feels like a weird take where, on the one hand, it's telling me all these characters are villains and that everything is dark grimdark of darkness, but, on the other hand, these characters are generally scowly but jovial (e.g. Deadshot, Harley, etc.). They just don't feel villanous in a world where everyone and everything is already so dark. Or to put it differently, when Superman kills his first villain in cold blood, Deadshot being a mercenary with a sob story makes him basically a protagonist.

It has Jai Courtnay in it though. That guy is franchise poison.

Might be. But I don't really see Boomerang stealing the show in this movie.

Me neither if anything Deadshot, Harley, Rick Flag, Joker (hopefully Katana) are the ones to steal the show

But him as Boomerang might make a better actor than sounding like a robot all the time

I'd laugh at this but at one time I thought Matthew McConaughey was box office poison.  Anything can happen.

At least I am still right about Taylor Kitsch.

He just hasn't found that one role yet :P

Kitsch is actually a very good actor. He has just been really unlucky\made bad career choices. Probably needs to fire his agent and replace him with the one Courtnay has.

And True Detective seemed like guaranteed award bait too. Until this season happened. Can someone tell me what it's about?

Poor Riggins.

A city/state corruption scandal that involved murder.

I suppose because it doesn't have some psycho killer people can't wrap their hands around the plot.

I'd agree with that. Suicide Squad should really feel like we're getting a bunch of absolute psychopaths together, which only Leto's Joker seemed to really convey at the end there. I hope this isn't just going to be a rehash of Whedon's team-building dynamic in the Avengers. That would be pretty disappointing.

Side note: You're not talking about Injustice regarding Superman killing his first villain are you? I just picked up year 2 yesterday and absolutely love this series.

I will say the trailer exceeded my expectations of the film; I was expecting a complete mess, where as this trailer looks at least slightly promising.

Leto's Joker is the one aspect I'm completely sold on. I was cautiously optimistic when I saw the first photos, but his bit in the trailer dismissed any doubts I had.

Robbie's Harley Quinn I'm still iffy about. Her physical performance seems spot on, but her vocal performance seems lacking. And I'm still not a fan of her costume; Leto's Joker look, whether you love it or hate it, is a daring and creative new take on the character. Robbie's Harley is a lazier version of her look from the video games.

Smith's another one where he seems to have the physical part of the performance down but I'm skeptical about what he's going to bring to the role. Given that he had the second biggest showcase in the trailer after Harley and that his part did nothing to get me excited, I'm a little meh on him right now, and given Smith's quality as an actor, that's disappointing.

I rather liked Jai Courtney's little bit. Happen to be a fan of his back from Season 1 of Spartacus; haven't seen the Die Hard film he did or the new Terminator so I don't share the hate for him that's developing among a lot of movie goers.

Aside from them and Viola Davis who's perfectly cast, don't really have any opinions. I'm pretty much just going to see this movie based on Leto's Joker.

Interesting little article on what we know so far on Suicide Squad: http://www.cinemable...-Far-68745.html

All put it in the OP as well.

I wonder if we will get to see Lex Zuckerberg. Could be interesting.

I'm still in the "iffy" territory after that trailer. Could be good, could be crap. I'll probably go see it anyway.

You know as much fun as it is to joke about Will Smith's lines and performance from the trailer. I'm actually still cool with him as Deadshot. Also Leto's Joker is growing on me the more I look at pictures and watch the trailer. At least in the since, as others have posted, that it is a clean break away from other portrayals. I can respect the fact they are trying to make a version of the Joker that's more unique and different than previous incarnations.
