Has Bioware announced who the lead writer is yet? Also any of the other writing staff.

Hmmm, Mac is now creative director. I never played Halo 4.
Does anyone know what happened to Karpyshyn? Nothing after Old Republic.

He's been writing books since leaving Bioware, I think
at least his first book in a series was published like last year or something. I assume he's working on the 2nd title now.
Ann Lemay & Jay Watamaniuk are also writing for ME:A...
And Jo Berry, too, right?

He's almost finished the trilogy? Jesus. I always manage to underestimate the passage of time somehow.

I am not sure what the common denominator is, but when you hear about a higher profile BioWare employee leaving its them leaving the industry completely.

I don't really care who the lead writer is. If they plan it to be a trilogy. please let the same lead writer write all the 3 games.

“We’re working to bring back some of that wonder and sense of exploration that we had in the original trilogy,” he says. “And while we’re making a next-gen title, we want to ensure that we’re stepping our game up so that this isn’t just Mass Effect with shiny new features. And we do that by having deep characters and a compelling story with choices that matter.”
Laughable.

Ah yes, John too! But wasn't Jay initially working on ME:A, then moved over to the new IP?

Mac Walters is the creator director. Basically, the buck stops with him when it comes to character dev, story dev and progression, etc. He's the head honcho -- next to project director which then oversees the whole game dev.

Yeah, agreed. The style drift was really noticeable in the original trilogy.

He left gaming entirely for the time being due to "lack of creative control, industry burnout and to focus on novels"... and a million trips to Las Vegas"

Totally forgot about Schlerf. Just read Halo 4 story - this guy has some decent drugs, though I hope we won't see AI marasmus and plagues in space.

I wish Chris L'Etoile would come back. So many of the writers that made Mass Effect well Mass Effect are seemingly not on the ME team/or at even Bioware anymore instead replaced by dross. Its a shame.
Also i think Mac Walters is a good, top character writer but nothing more.

What is more important, I believe, is that if they do a trilogy they have sketched out its development ahead of time and not left it till later. Dragon Age, apparently, has the story for the next two games sketched out, so hopefully losing their lead writer from DAI will not mean you end up with something like ME2 which didn't really have anything to do with advancing the reaper story and retconned a bunch of stuff from ME1.
