HI everyone, as the title suggests I'm pretty sure I'm going to stop playing this game, I'll probably come back for the occasional weekened update/challenge or dlc but I just realized something.... so this game (the multiplayer part I mean) that I have put roughly 250 hours into wasn't so fun at the start, oh no the low levels, the hardships with completing routine or threatning difficulties on starting levels without proper gear wasn't a fun experience so I put in some time to this game up to a point when I got the Arcane warrior (one of my favorite characters and classes), with him I could do almost everything including perilous with a group and that got me better gear so I could play with other characters but all that time I didn't really bother to promote my characters since the leveling itself was my least favorite thing about this experience, so after a time, I got all of the dragon weapons I've set out to gain and no good accessories to note (except superb crit damage ring which is not that great since I have really low cunning....).

when the new patch came out with new weapons and difficulties I was a bit excited to be honest, finally something more I can aspire to but as I was trying to do some NM runs, wether in a Public match where most of us just couldn't go past stage 3 or a private with people from this very forum in which I felt so useless without proper promotion stats like alot of you worked hard to get.

so today as I was playing with someone I met in the forum (hopefully to be able to get one of those new hakkon weapons in NM) I got some shitty blue 5+ willpower trinket after we finally defeated the dragon and then It struck me, I'm only playing this game because I'm trying to relieve the mass effect 3 multi glory days where promotions didn't determine anything and chest score didn't exist (atleast to my knowledge) and the grinding part of the game was fun because of the sheer amount of great content it had

I couldn't care less for glitches or bugs as long as the game is fun, but this game didn't learn from mass effect 3, it took alot of the bad things and implemented them even further, atleast in mass effect you could save up, promote and then buy alot of chests so you don't have to start leveling from scratch, but not for this game, this game would have you go back and forth so you can get 1 single measly point of progression towards immortality.

I can only hope that the new mass effect will live up to its predecessor and be the multiplayer experience that we, bioware's devoted fans deserve.

DAIMP is good,

Sadly, it pales in comparison to ME3MP.

If it weren't for the great people I have met here, would drop it.

DEV's, please compare the two MP's, and incorporate the best of both into future games.

There is a whole bunch of free testers here, some with very, very good ideas.

Be a shame to waste such a resource.

I was going to "like" your comment because I can't be bothered to make one of these when I quit for the same reasons, but I don't want you to mistakenly think I like you quitting or that no one cares

I dunno. I like grinding promotions. I like the game. I think there are just some people that don't That doesn't mean the game is bad. If you don't like the game for fundamental reasons, then all is not lost. There are plenty of other games you might like more.

Well, I have killed 80+ dragons and only got the Longsword so far. I guess I should thank Wavebend for whining about spawn-camping on the beta forums after getting all of his Hakkon weapons through spawn-camping. Real classy.

Sorry that the game took so long earlier, my Templar didn't have the wombo combo. And while Bodyguard is nice and all, it doesn't really help when everyone dies anyway and my damage output is total crap.

I also came to this game to fill the empty space which the glorious ME3MP had left in me, but I stayed in DAMP for several reasons and I do not see myself leaving anytime soon. I've played it for about two thousand hours and I not only find it enjoyable nowadays, I actually find it more enjoyable than before. Last night for instance was one of the most fun if not the funniest night I've ever had in this game.

It makes me sad seeing people leaving, and there are quite a few leaving. I know this game has many flaws. But... If I were good at persuading people I would try to convince everyone to stay, because the game is still crazy fun, for me as well as it is for few others.

I wanna be a Druffalo and I wanna fight Corypheus.  Also, give me a Predator Missle for a killstreak reward.  And let me ride the dragon... preferably as the Druffalo.  And I want a Turian sniper rifle.  Come on Bioware, plz.

Then I might be able to get no Hakkon weapons twice as fast again. :)

It really wasn't your fault, the entire game I felt my damage output was crap and the only way I can contribute to the team is to "not die" and I hate feeling incompetent like that...

Like mass effect this game gets more fun the more you play it but mass effect had more content in my opinion (and no I not mean in the end, I mean throughout the game's life cycle)

but also much of the game's fun derives from playing with people and sadly not only that I could'nt find anyone who plays this damn game that also speaks my language (tried to persuade alot of my Hebrew speaking friends to buy this game but didn't work...), but I also found out that this game's chat feature isn't all that great as well, I can't understand half of what people are saying to me and I have no idea if when I talk people get me

I admit if I had found some people that I can interact with and have fun with while "acing" the game this post probably wouldn't exist

Well, I tried to play DAMP again last night after a 2 week break (1st long break since the game came out and I finished the SP part of the game) and the 3 games I played were like this

1. Rubber banding lag (those running in place kind. ugh)

2. Lost connection at zone 4

3. Did not load - had to restart the Xbox.

Decided to play ME3MP instead, you know, for old times sake.  Attempted to join a lobby, stared at the spinning blue circle, hoping to load properly.

Got in a lobby, everyone readies up and as the game was loading, I remember thinking to myself "please let me hear the announcer's voice".  The game went smoothly and played a couple of games without incident.

Conclusion - Playing DAMP has given me some kind of phobia of the loading screens, funny, how I get quite anxious and didn't even realise it.  Also, I missed those  biotic booms.

I think I like this game because it's like an mmorpg but boiled down the basics of a teamwork based combat system and dungeon raids, with the a sense of progression built in through equipment upgrades and promotions. All the characters feel different to play, and it keeps the game fresh. when I'll come around to playing a character I haven't touched in while, either I've promoted or gained enough new equipment or luke has made enough skill changes to make me rethink my skill point strategy and play style. Add a community of friends that are also excited about the game and you're set. I could only ask for some more maps and a more stable server, really.

I don't like grinding promotions, but it was abundantly clear it was going to something that was extremely beneficial if not required.  I have promoted since day 1 and I wouldn't change it.  It's nice being powerful and when you can handle the crazy hard difficulties it feels like you accomplished something.  I don't believe I have ever played a game as a level 20 character.  That's not to knock someone that doesn't want to promote, but I cringe when I see people playing level 20ies.  You're only hurting yourself.

Either way it's good that you did enjoy the game.

I don't think anyone that has played both ME3 mp and DAMP would ever say DAMP was better, but there are a few improvements.  I look forward to checking out ME: A.  I will just be waiting until it his the bargain bin as the bugs and glitches in this game were enough to make me see Bioware as not a developer I would pre order from ever again.  Of course all of this EA business with dropping last gen consoles after charging full price for the game.....that's something to remember as well.

I still play this game, but its because of the people and not so much the lame 4 maps over and over and over, on the same token I do respect what they are trying to do with it now and they have made the game A LOT better IMO.  I will definitely give the guys working with DAMP now a ton of credit.

With this giving away the MP for free you guys might start seeing my name around during beta tests ect o.o Unless that region lock still applies :(
