I don't know if robot Li would be so groundbreaking. Bicentennial Man came out 1999 and it's main plot had human and robot romance. I watched it quite few times as kid 
So I don't think it would be that shocking, although likely bit weird and thought-provoking.
Can we have our first Transformer romance option?

Yeah and the robot in that movie needed decades to adapt to human behaviour and 200 years until he was basically human to proceed with the relationship.

While I liked EDI, it was somewhat disturbing, when Joker was talking about "over-the-clothes action" with her.
Indeed, airmen who tried to talk to their CO about trying to start a sexual relationship with their Predator drone would probably be discharged and put in a mental institution IRL, and for good reason.
It is for shame that I couldn't get that man the help he needed in game, and very insensitive on biower's part IMO.
