If you choose to take the cash and free the fade beast, exactly how do "others ... ultimately suffer for the Warden's greed?"

It's not shown in the game, as far as I know, but the usual consequences of freeing a demon apply.

That's my understanding...no visible consequences in the game. Who knows what they might do later with expansions or DLC...for now word is to enjoy the reward.

I prefer revenge, I like to kill as many bosses as possible, extra XP and heroic accomplishments. I don't need any more money.

The great thing is if you let him go no one in my party dissapproved.
Not even what's his face...the Templar guy.
Oh my gosh! I was just playing and I forgot his name....
Sad.
Anyway, it's all good.
I don't need any money. So, I'm with others--kill bosses, get exp and heroic etc.

Think of it in this context: 1890-something, Whitechapel, London. You happen to get the jump on Jack the Ripper. He is in your custody. You have the immediate choice of A) killing him, thus preventing him from ever murdering again, or
accept a LARGE bribe to let him go. If you chose B, would it not be safe to say...."others ... ultimately suffer for [your] greed?" It _could_ be argued that having been caught once, Jack **might** play it safe and never kill again. But that is, if anything, simply a hopeful rationalization.

Think of a mobster on the run from both cops and gangsters. Where do I hide until the heat is off? Now think of the mobster as being immortal. How many centuries before all of the other immortal gangsters stop gunning for him?Spitz6860 wrote...

The Fade Demon (which is what you get when you reassemble the pieces) has found a loophole between Fade and Thedas that he could hide out without showing up on anyone's "radar". He has apparently successfully crossed over to the Real World -- where he would certainly stand out as seriously out of place. But by having himself stashed around in parts instead of just one body, his exact location can't be pinpointed.
Maybe it _has_ been long enough that those looking for him have forgotten all about him. Now that he's been reassembled, he has several centuries worth of excitement to catch up on. If he goes back to the Fade, he'd just be one powerful demon amongst MANY powerful demons. But if he stays in Thedas..... He may not be the toughest thing in the neighborhood, but he would most certainly rank near the top.
And it's all thanks to _you_.

I killed him.
The desire demon with the Templar in the tower, I let go.

If you have no idea what the thing is you either A. Didn't do the mage origin, or B. Never killed Uldred in the Circle Tower

I almost always kill it. 25 gold ain't enough to buy my conscience.
Now if he offered me 30 gold and a night with Teagan, that's a totally different story.

I would love to see this demon appear again in future DLC (depending on the player's choice). It certainly seems like there should be at least some repercussions for letting him go free. After all, according to the codex, "A greater pride demon, brought across the veil, would threaten the entire world."
