Think BioWare is scamming us with the new gen consoles? Any ideas?

Cheap or not . It's still a shitty thing that Bioware is doing.

People have asked was it actually BioWare or EA's doing? Can EA have that kind of influence or power? If so maybe they had a helping hand or are the cause?

EA owns Bioware and publishes their games. So of course they have that kind of influence or power.

I'd venture to say that Bioware has no influence or power. EA could can every single person who works at Bioware and still keep on making Dragon Age and Mass Effect games.

Well then the questions we should be asking is how to get BioWare out of EA's money grabbing, dirty little grasp.

Well, Bio and Pandemic together were acquired by EA for $800 million and change. If you've got half a billion lying around, give EA a call.

Why does it matter? The end result remains the same.

They're Bioware's publisher. Of course they can. They own the studio.

If EA say "support last gen even if it means downgrading the game" that is what will happen.

And it would have seemed like a no brainer to them before the current gen launched. Because they could not know for certain how many people would buy the new consoles.

As it turns out the take up was MUCH higher than expected. Enough that supporting last gen was really unnecessary. But by then the mistake had been made.

And it was a mistake. Competitors have shown that dumping last gen has allowed them to make richer and better polished games in comparison to DAI. So now damage limitation is being done, to preserve the Dragon Age brand.

A more polished game certainly...

Which? DAI or its competitors?

Its competitors.  Which only one game I would call a 'competitor' to DA I has been released so far, and it is pretty polished.  Jury is still out on better, which is a very subjective standard.

Sure. :) That's why I opted for 'Richer'. And I'm talking in terms of populated environments, cutscenes, meaningful interactions, sidequests and in-game balancing. Those are the quantifiable things, and not just subjective opinions on story or character.

Ah gotcha.
