Hells yeah. That would be the greatest trollolol in BioWare history (other than the ending of ME3 in and of itself of course).
I fully support.

10/10
Would kill again.
But then I'd have to deal with my Shepard again, because she replaced him. And that'd be all awkward, like when Hawke and the Inquisitor were standing around and I was like "HOLY HELL FORGET QUIZZIE I WANT TO BE HAWKE AGAIN!" and I couldn't. And it was sad.
... why do this? What's the benefit?
You're joking, right? He was the highlight of the original trilogy.
If you honestly think there's even a remote possibility of the Catalyst returning you have zero common sense. Your brain is not functioning properly.
The whole point of going to Andromeda is to leave the endings and all their bad smells back in the Milky Way. We have to go to Andromeda as we wait for the experts to clean the stink out of the Milky Way.

I abhor violence against children, but in the Catalyst's case I can make an exception.
He is a centuries old A.I. I don't think you could call him a child anymore regardless of his species. so if you get violent against him, you can do it guilt free.

and thus redeeming Bioware in which i do support fully that and full on troll mode by bring him back into ME A.

Well, neither did Bioware when they wrote the Mass Effect 3 ending I'm afraid.

What's wrong with the superweapon actually doing what it was supposed to do?
Do you mean the crucible or the ark? Either way there was no superweapon.
It's a computer program. I have to believe it must have backed itself up somewhere. Also seeing as the reapers have been around for many cycles I would not be surprised if some reapers escaped from the catalyst control and left the galaxy.
It has not be officially confirmed dead by Bioware. The Catalyst has only been presumed dead at best thus far. I'm curious (and slightly concerned) that the Catalyst could make a return. It is the only character in all four Mass Effect 3 conclusions that potentially survived and Bioware may use it as a means to connect all four games together. The Catalyst also has the capacity to survive hundreds of thousands of years and presumably has the ability to travel to different galaxies too.
We can be sure that Commander Shepard will not return in ME:A due to clear statements from senior Bioware officials. However, with no announcement from EA or Bioware whatsoever that the Star Child is out of the picture for certain, it remains an (unlikely) possibility...

I was going to make a joke in this thread about the Catalyst being an LI in MEA, but then I realised the creepy connotations of that... ![]()

It already gets to know Shepard intimately in two out of the three (four) endings.

But what if it's Shep-Catalyst from the control ending?

There is no "Shep-Catalyst" after the control ending. A Shepard program replaces the Catalyst and it's directives.

That's basically what the synthesis ending is: one giant reaper-organic romance.
If the catalyst returns, Shepard better return right alongside him.

His kind transcends our very understanding. ![]()
As far as we know you cannot handle AI like conventional pieces of data and they are tied to specific pieces of hardware. Geth yes, AI no. The result of a reinstallation would be a new AI. Could be different for the catalyst but we don´t know.
I think a backup wouldn´t be seen by an AI as him but more like a human thinks of a clone.
And well he said that he is some kind of collective Reaper thing. So you grilled/controlled/synthesized him, all his databases and possible hardware he could run on.
Quarian Master Race, you almost killed me in this thread! ![]()
