Copy/pasta to an old post of mine

Pro tip: there is some extra meaning if you are Quarian saavy.

A Quarian Exiled.

A Female Quarian exiled by some crime, which could be latter be known by the loyalty mission.

Khara’Bosh’tet vas Nedas a Quarian Mercenary

Around her 30s she is and exquisite sight to behold, but also a very distant and hostile. Once you are inside the inner group though, she will be protective and silly –just like on a mercenary gig-.

An Exile by all means, a lady that carved out a path herself as a mercenary. She has all the knowledge on how to perform assassinations and is one tough being.

She is a distinct sight to behold considering how Quarians usually are. She has a very noticeable grudge against the Quarian people, at first you are taken back, because this is highly unusual. She even names herself as bosh’tet. You begin to see glimpses of information from time to time shed out of the things she talks about. Apparently all leads to a reactor failure on the ship she used to Captain in the Flotilla.

Loyalty Mission:

You receive a distress call from a Quarian ship, stating that Berrot’Lon, and its crew are stranded on the ship. Moreover you learn that the ship is losing the little atmosphere left. Once you are briefed Khara signs up taking no for an answer. Once in the derelict the squads realize that the spaceship is losing the precious atmosphere therefore the other squad mate is sent to contain this issue at the bridge, therefore it will be just you and Khara. On the way you begin to find various Quarians lying on the floor obviously damaged by radiation, and Khara begins to squirm and to hesitate –she is not her usual tough lady-. You begin to find some pieces of information, which details that the Core went critical. And the before finally blowing up, it irradiated the unproductive parts of the ships killing those without shielding.

Finally you reach the survivors to find them in very rough shape. A male quarian –Berrot you assume- sees Khara and calls her with almost a whisper “flower, I sincerely never thought I would see you again, and in such circumstance.” With a loud grunt in agreement you still sense a tremor in her voice, and you believe you see a tear.

You finally get everyone on a shuttle, only 15 Quarians out of 370 that were aboard the ship. A few days later Berrot dies.

After being extra bitchy and horrendous to everyone, she finally drops by at your place, some turian brandy in one hand, and two glasses in the other. “I know it may not be the best for you, but if you are to hear me you will drink with me.”

After agreeing, and expecting a very very bad day tomorrow.

I was indeed Captain of a ship back in the Flotilla. The Ship was the Zamna. And my name was actually Khara´Roa vas Zamna. It was a small volus cruise ship –not a cruiser- a couple of hundred was the population, we even replaced the old recreation area with a barrack to train our marines. This cruiser was a good vessel on most of its aspects but one: the Core had extreme fluctuations from time to time, most of our engineers where always considering to change it for another, but I was always believing in them, and I always believed we were the best in the galaxy, “who could we be bested by a faulty core?”. And so we kept going, until a day when the core spiked and ruptured. That day most of the vas Zamna was killed if not by the blast, by the radiation.

I was taken to court, still baffled unsure, and with the blood of most of my crew in my hands. In the end I was Exiled.

I began drifting through different background colonies hating myself for the damage I did to my people, which in the end were right. But I could not bear the guilt, therefore I always blamed them for my shortcomings.

The remaining 14 Quarians, at the sick bay, I will nurse them back to health and I will protect them, I have done my mourning and my self-pity is not helping from now on I shall come back to my people and help them even as an exiled, as a bosh’tet.”

After the loyalty mission Khara turns to a whole different person, she shines with happiness, and helps everyone she cans, a heavy weight was lifted, she no longer carries the dead on her shoulder as a weight, but as way to help others, “learn from your mistakes” taken to a whole new level.

--------------

Note: this was writen in a rush.

Also Note: I would totaly romace Khara

Another Note: I hope my text makes sense

An Asari with a Krogan dad. Like that bartender on Illium. All the Krogan ferocity combined with a touch of Asari wisdom.

. . .I'm horrible at coming up with initial ideas and I don't enough information on the new setting to have many, I've only got the following:

- Human from a cult of biotics. (Vanguard)

- Turian Fatalist Mercenary (Soldier-esque/Grenadier)

. . .which should I write on?

Biotics? Nope. Neuro toxins? Yes. Strangling people? Kind of.

They are predators... underwater. Out of the water they are as scary as balloons, provided you don't cuddle with their tentactles.

Don't be too sure about that one.

That's an octopus. Basically an Asari head. The Hanar are similiar to the Portuguese Man of War (Physalia utriculus):

Hanar have neither reach nor flexibility, they don't have a redundant nervous system and if it wasn't for their implants, they couldn't even move. Combat is out of the question and as long as you stay out of reach, they can't do anything. :P

A late teenaged human female Cyborg, Class: Engineer or Tech-Hybrid.

She has one Eye replaced with a mechanical One, linked to her Brain, allowing mental Access to what basically Amounts all sorts of Cyberspace, up to and including the Extranet and Computer Systems. She might also have other Cyborg-Parts, like a Limb or, what I find intriguing, Hair that's not actual Hair but something that is either a Bunch of Cables with USB Ports or Tasers, powered by the same Power Source like the Eye, linked to her Brain and thus independently moving. Maybe all of that, go crazy. ideally, she should be enough of a Machine that it causes some... Issues. More of that further down.

She does not have a spectacular backstory and maybe her Parents can even be Characters. She was born with several Deformities/Disabilities that lead to her cybernetic Implants and Augmentations. Maybe her Parents were wealthy enough to buy them for her, maybe they weren't and they're experimental, installed by some Company. The Point is that it's those Implants that make her a valuable Asset to the Crew, even in Combat - not the actual Person herself, who is significantly younger than the Rest of the Crew or at least occupies a younger Mindset. Only possible as a Love Interest, if the whole Crew is more DA:O Level in Age.

Personalitywise, she is like many Teenagers of today - thinking to be cynical is equal to be wise, thinking they are the smartest but secretly or not-so-secretly yearning to be proven wrong and finding out that the World is far better than they expected it to be. She is absolutely not as world-smart as she thinks she is, Augmentations notwithstanding. Her personal Relationship differs greatly between a "Paragon" and a "Renegade", as the former fulfills her Hopes, while the latter fulfills her Expectations. If there'd be an Approval rating instead, she would always approve of "good" Choices, even though she doesn't act that Way.

But, that isn't her main Arc, which concerns her Humanity instead (or course, a Paragon would groom this Humanity, while a Renegade would diminish it). She has immense Power through her Implants and is more than a bit Machine. In Fact, she might be going through a veritable Power Trip as she slowly masters using her Augmentations in Combat Situations and eventually (maybe even visually!) upgrading herself to become more and more Machine. The Player can stir her in one or the other Direction, towards her Human Side or her Machine Side. Her Loyalty Mission would probably involve her Parents or the Source of her Augmentations, ending in a Choice of either fully integrating into a Machine or learning to control her Machien Side trough Humanity.

If she'd be a Love Interest, it should only be possible if you convinced her of her Humanity, I would not like another EDI kind of Situation. I could see her as a Love Interest, but really, I'd see her more as something like "Everyone's little Sister", a more fragile, physically weak (not necessarily feminine, but definitely not gruff) Member of the Crew, who is somewhat endearing to everyone and who causes everyone to be pissed if someone messes with her.

I'd also like her to be black, because seriously, everyone would expect a Tech-based Character to be white or asian or indian or stuff.

That's my two Cents.

Sure, visually they look like a Man of War, but it is quite obvious through cutscenes, dialogue and general background lore that the Hanar are more than simple talking jellyfish. We can see that they have a sizable mass to them as depicted when Shepard is struggling to shove, and being shoved by Blasto in the Citadel DLC. We have Zaeed's account of his fight with one where he was almost strangled; jelly fish don't have that kind of strength.

In terms of appearance, the Hanar are jelly fish, but their anatomy and demonstrated strength seems to imply (to me anyway) something more like a stout octopus.

I'd pay $200 for the game if they put a 'create a companion' mode in the game. Like in Pillars of Eternity.

Sure, they wouldn't say *bleep* and wouldn't have anything to add to the story, but there's just something about creating your entire squad that would make it totally worthwhile for me.

I thought you meant like Dragon's Dogma where you create your main pawn and choose their class and all that.

uh, lessee: well, they apparently already have Drack. I hope he's cool.

In ME1, my go to crew was Kaidan and Wrex. Kaidan had that biotic and tech advantage to add, and Wrex, well, Wrex.

In ME2 my go to was Grunt and Jack.

So, apparently I have a thing for squaddies that have a certain...enthusiasm...for their work.

Actually, I think I would like a tank that is also very proficient in tech.

I'll second an Asari squadmate who has a Krogan dad. Her weapons of choice are a M-98 Widow, Tempest, and Phalanx. She thinks the Asari weapons are crap. She's an infiltrator: a huntress. Tactical Cloak, Dark Channel, Warp, Fitness. Gun nut.

Her mom was a commando fighting the reapers with a unit attached to the Nefrane. And her dad was fighting with a Krogan unit headed for Earth.

She loved both her mom and dad. Her dad used to get into the varren house a lot with her mom and instead of going out drinking afterward like most Krogan dads would, he'd stomp out and take her fishing when she was a little girl. Then when she was older he taught her how to shoot. Her mom didn't want her joining a merc band and getting second rate training or shaking her ass in a sleazy bar, so she joined the Commandos. She got assigned as one of those to help protect the colonists when they arrived in Andromeda. She knows how to head butt. We'll make her about 135 years old (don't count the cryo) with a temper, but she can be a real softie. Just don't make her go bloodrage. Basically a young Aethyta. Possible Asari LI.

I want just two companions. A Volus infiltrator and an Elcor who has some kind of sci fi Gatling gun mounted on it's back.

No one else. Just them. Your PC and them, the only ones that survived ME3.

No, that's inconsistent writing and rule of cool. Talk to Thane about the Hanar and he'll tell you that they can't use weapons... whatever Blasto does is just BioWare not giving a ****. :P

Is it they can't use weapons period, or they can't use weapons designed with human(oid) ergonomics in mind?

Because I would find it equally unlikely; and sloppy writing to boot; if a sentient, aquatic based species, one that developed FLT travel from reversed engineered Prothean relics would be incapable of creating and wielding weapons of their own design in the centuries before and after their master of space flight.

You are correct that Blasto looked ridiculous holding twin Canifexs, but how foolish would Shepard look trying to hold a Hanar made weapon? Could he/she even hold such a gun properly, much less shoot it?

I demand we get a Vorcha Sentinel as a companion in ME:A.

And he needs to have a flamethrower just like in ME3 MP.
