*sigh* Welp, I thought about it over the night, then took a three hour nap today, and finally typed something up. With that in mind, consider the following.

1) Zarr, the Misfit (Krogan Sentinel)

Spoiler

2) Herald, Vanguard of the Blue Flame (Human Vanguard)

Spoiler

3) Dinata 'Din' Savernus, Sole Survivor of the Grimm Mercenary Company(Turian Soldier)

The Outlaw-

A Human  Man Soldier-

Not the best of men, but most people this far out are either looking for an opportunity or on the run. This guy is the later. He is found while on the job after he guns someone down and takes all their worldly possessions, an admittedly not good person but still. (NOT)Shepard can bring him in or demand he share some of the riches. He goes from prisoner/on the run to companion after the place you needed to take him to is in shambles. This guy is more like if Zaeed was young and a bit cocky. Had a lot of things he has done wrong, and regretful of a few, but now he's out for fame in the Andromeda systems.  You can appeal to his sense of adventure or remind him that there are bigger things to do.

The Gambler-

Turian Woman Engineer-

She has regrets about where she was before. Duty and honor is something she is done with. Making her way place to place, fixing things, or rigging games of chance to make her credits. She doesn't stick her neck out anymore and usually tries to avoid fights, less due to moral reasons, and more that she usually finds it pointless to risk her neck without being paid for it. Despite having a bit of a Nihilistic outlook, she is witty and covers her new outlook as a humourous gamble to see who wins out. Just supposed to come to her for information, the idea of extra credits and her own curiosity means she throws in with you. You can encourage the selfish veneer who is only out for herself and credits, or remind her that she once was someone who believed in ideals.

The Law-

A Sentinel Quarian Man-

He was a bit of a hero in closer galaxies, but he got sidelined a lot until he came further out to actually do something to help. He knows laws are harsh because life is harsh out here, and while he doesn't appreciate people making it harder on others by taking advantage, he wants life to be stable enough out here that a simple robbery is reason to kill a guy in public. He's more reticent than many of the others, but he is a practical idealist. He will make things better doing what he can. Meet him pretty early on with the settler due to an attack that was a bit beyond their ability to hold off. Can encourage him to be a bit more brutal in his dealings with criminals out here, or can encourage him to take a lighter stance. Of course, just agreeing means he stays around the same.

The Settler-

An Infiltrator human Woman-

One of a good many colonists that have appeared in the region, when she and The Law show up. She isn't a soldier, but she has survived a few terrible regions as a colonist and picked up her fair bit of skill with a gun and the tech no how to get things done. Used to roughing it, she is surprised to have so many amenities on board the ship. A simple woman but not an unintelligent one, who learns quickly despite being behind a bit in skill as the others. She is an amazing shot, and has a definite sense of right and wrong, that she holds very close to. You can persuade her to leave being a colonist and become a more professional soldier, or encourage her to use her skills as better use to her community.

I'd love to have a human female engineer, someone who loves experimenting. She makes robots and drones to try out for different tasks, but only half of them actually do what they're supposed to. Swears a lot and seems a little gruff, but she's actually pretty friendly and has a strong sense of morality. Very funny. Doesn't necessarily need to be an Asian woman with an eyepatch.

A male quarian a little like Reegar. Combat-oriented, not any form of nerd. No scientists, no AI specialists, no engineers. Preferably either an exile (voluntarily or forced) or an 'ordinary ground soldier' on the Fleet. Good sense of humour is mandatory! Could be a little snarky. Lovely accent also mandatory.

A hardass asari like Aethyta. A female "good" turian (much more by-the-book than Garrus, not a renegade). A decent batarian. A truly alien AI (something like the geth 'we are many eyes looking at the same thing' mindset, but without going human eventually).

4: anti AI geth (err... a Geth that fully understands the danger of their existence.)
5: happy-go-lucky Salarian with a drug problem
6: (mutant) male Asari (to make it short: there has to be an option in the genetics for male Asari if they are really an all female species. if not, they are not female, but asexual. )
7: militant atheist human
8: Drell who likes to swim
9: Hanar who *&@(#^*&()@!^*(&!@#^&*(!@%# hates swimming
10: Elcor with ADHD
11: Sapient Keeper
12: Volus with a gambling problem
13: Batarian who loves to cuddle

I could go on, but you get the point.

Well as far as a companion goes, I would like to see dualistic-pair of squad mates. Essentially, I would have it so that you have two completely different characters, that you can bring with you on missions, but only one at a time, and that the other will have to remain on the ship. Several scripted points of the companion(s) arc will have the player taking both on a quest that ultimately decides which one remains as a permanent member of the roster, and which one goes off on their own.

The set of characters I would like to see would be:

- Myrian "The Speaker" - (Asari Scientist)

An asari scientist assigned to the small clutch of Rachni brought over in order to help quickly establish foundations for colonies on the more extreme planets. Myrian has held a strong fascination with the inscetiod species, and her connection to the ruling queen as well as her natural biotics, and unique asari biology made her the perfect choice to be the voice of the Rachni. She speaks for the Queen, letting the other races know of their desires, and helping to convey meaning between the other colonists and them when the two alien cultures fumble over trying to understand one another. As the Rachni are quite alien to the rest of the galaxy, and Myrian's role of speaker entails her spending large amounts of time with the queen, she is distrusted and generally shunned from the rest of the refugees. She is a vital part of the interspecies relations, but her deference to the Rachni, and the queen's seemingly unnatural methodology of speaking 'through her' have left others' opinions of her strained.

Recently, she has been requested to escort a young Rachni queen throughout the system by the older matron, and though Myrian was reluctant to leave the relative comfort of her lab, she has to admit that getting out of the relatively stable primary colony is a good change of pace, and an endeavor that may help her make up her mind on whether she wants to continue to be the Speaker for the Rachni.

Myrian is a capable scientist and she brings debilitating tech attacks to the fight when she is a member of the away team. Her biotic abilities are generally limited in focus and she tends to relay more on her omi tool than her latent powers.

- R-1396 - (Rachni Queen)

R-1396 is the designation given to a young Rachni queen hatched from the many egg clutches of the old matron queen that made the trip to Andromeda. Rachni have no comparable naming convention among their number, so the people assigned to tending the primary nests just refer to them by which egg cluster and which egg they emerged from. A fully developed Rachni queen is huge, sitting in at around roughly 30 feet in length, but until a new queen is needed to start a new nest, or if the old queen dies any up and coming 'princesses' are no bigger than the male Brood Warriors; albeit with thicker carapace and a greater degree of biotic potential.

*We don't know anything really of the Rachni's biology or their nest hierarchy, so I hope if the readers don't mind if I borrow traits from a few real world insects, and the Praetorian 'young queen theory' xenomorph from the Alien franchise.

R-1396, or the old matron queen, has deemed it necessary for the adolescent Rachni to scout out surrounding systems for the possibility of a new hive, as well as to try and understand the nuances of the other Milky Way species that surround them. The young queen would typically not be allowed free reign to leave the hive, as the other species (especially the Krogan) are fearful of the Rachni taking over the surrounding systems, but with some convincing from the Speaker, and the promise to only seek out the less desirable worlds the new Council has agreed to allow R-1396 to travel with Myrian as her retainer.

Being a young Rachni queen means that R-1396 is very capable of defending herself in combat, as her abilities are beyond that of the elite Brood Warriors that defend the hive. While primarily a melee fighter, R-1396 does posses some powerful combat biotics and is quite capable of engaging foes wielding modern weapons and armor.

Gameplay Mechanics - Myrian is fairly standard in terms of her abilities and interaction with the rest of the crew. R-1396 is unique in that she is rather 'alien' even among the various species from the Milky Way, and as such her presence in the party will make things easier or harder for the player when dialoguing with various factions and settlements depending on how the PC approaches them.

The young queen can 'talk' to the player via communication with Myrian (and later a comlink upgrade that takes advantage of the Rachni's natural QEC), and the she is able to understand the orders given to her on the battlefield easily enough.

Story Arc - As the player advances in Myrian's / R-1396's stories they must choose which of the two will continue on the quest with the team or, return to the main hive/start a new colony. Once the choice is made either Myrian or R-1396 will leave the party, and the other will remain as a member of the crew.

Nah. The thing I love about Bioware games is that I have my character that usually represents me in some way through the design I make or through my playstyle and then I get to interact with Bioware's unique cast of companions in the most direct way any game can make me do it.

I still think that's been the pull for me since ME1, that Bioware is good at making it immersive when it comes to player interacting with the characters because of the interactive dialogue, romances, choices etc.

I am keen to see an Asari justicar companion, one that is much younger (at least by Asari standards) and less experienced than say, Samara.

Over time she would secretly begin to question her code, and the protagonist has an opportunity to lead her in either direction. To break away from the code or to follow it faithfully.

Seeing you guys create companions inspired me to create more alien species. If I ever do another kickstarter book, I am so adding a few of these ideas into it.

Karran Vataar

Race: Turian

Class: Soldier

Personality: multiple personality disorder (calm and psychotic)

His name is not really his first first and second name but they are a representative of his personality, Karran is the name of the charismatic and calm side of him, a good speeker and politician, while Vataar is the psychotic side with a destructive tactical side that love combat a mater of weapons and tactics he can kill anyone in the most psychotic way possible with 100% succes rate. The 2 have learned to work together to take care of things in the most effective way. But sometimes one of them can take controll out of nowhere and calm or destroy the opponent.

During conversations his personality can change from Karran to vataar to make the dialogue more interesting.

I would like to see a civilian as a companion for once.  No super badass background or ties to some bigger military or political organization.  I would like to see a companion go from zero to hero over the course of the story.

Well, not out of the wacky Ones. Out of the reasonable Ones, which provide at least something you can work off. It could be Fun!
