I'm reviving this thread because I still only have one companion left before I've got a full twenty companions and I still don't know who/what would possibly fill that slot. . . :crying:

A bad*** male version of Jack: Like Jack he was experimented on to be a great and powerful adapt. Like Jack broke free.

A female krogan: Was loyal to the wife of Wrex. Her family served her for years. She wants to make the krogan family proud despite being looked as being weak or soemthing since Wrex was tied to Shepard. There might be some split factions of krogans: One being pro human while others are against humans. female krogan is pro humans.

A male or female batarian. Famed terrorist that is suggested to help out. Like a KOTOR character this batarian isn't the nicest person in the world. Good news: He/she works for you not against you. He/She loves killing stuff.

Asari: Unsre. i just like asari.

And a female character that's of the shadow class from the ME 3 multiplayer.: Imagnine a human EDI type person. It's a human like AI assassin.

Lol.

By pure irony I kind of been working on a semi fan fic thing similar to the MASS EFFECT trilogy. I was thinking about this name but I was like nah. So I came up with 'Gretel' (full name is Gretel Carter) instead in homage to 'Hansel and Gretel' since I thought the same thing you did being 'Jack and Jill'. Lol.

If the game is set far later than Mass Effect 3, Female Turian Infiltrator who is the descendant of Garrus or one of his family members. Not a direct copy paste of Garrus' character though.

Also a badass Renegade-style Asari.

My ideal companion.

Lunamaria Revy

-Brown hair

-Age: 26

-Green eyes

-White

Armor

-Sort of like Shepard's default armor but white with crimson stripes running down the arms and a backpack. Her helmet is based off of the Mark V helmet from Halo. Shoulder armor is removed.

Weapons

-Assault rifle

-Sniper rifle

Class-Sentinel with crimson tech armor

Special ability: Able to give squad a layer of temporary tech armor, which functions like in ME2. Once shield goes down, tech armor goes.

Neutral, but will lend towards renegade or paragon when needed.

Able, a quick thinker, compassionate but ruthless when needed, she is a key part of anyone's squad. She comes from a long line of adventurers and renegades, and seeks to uphold tradition. She is an expert at squad support and marksmanship.

Weaknesses: Weak armor, long shield recharge time.

Strengths: Strong shields, good fighter. Tech armor provides protection.

eeeeeeeh, not pleased with what I came up with. It's not bad, but combat-wise just isn't as useful as it could be, even after I made it a biotic.

So. . .back to thinking up a twentieth. . .

Make it like a Vanguard but with "Varren Charge" as opposed to "Biotic Charge" ... throw in a "chomp" mechanic to replace Falcon Punch and you've got a bitey, 4-legged version of a BatGuard!

I want a quiet, geeky guy who wears glasses. The glasses bit is really important. You could argue Liara fit the nerdy stereotype and to a degree she did but in a lot of ways she really didn't, she was a scholar but there was always a focus in why she wanted to know something. And the nerdiness too a definitive backseat after she became the shadowbroker. I want a character that loves knowing and discovering things just for the sake of knowing them. If he was a companion he'd be a biotic [naturally :P ] if he was an advisor type figure he'd be an endless font of knowledge that happened to occasionally be useful. No reason he couldn't be both ofc and he would be but they'd have less emphasis based on his role. He'd be an absent minded professor kinda guy.

Made it charge-less in that sense, but could take down a single enemy. I essentially made it more like the Mabari of Origins, though the problem is then how to make it worthwhile to bring along.

I have it all completed, but I have no intent on posting it now while I come up with the final, actual twentieth (ignoring the Reaper Companion because that was sheer boredom.)

Since humans will have a significant role in ME:A, I suggest we use plenty of unique styles and mannerism.

Overconfident American cowboy
Narcisstic Englishman
Ignorant Frenchman
Xenophobic German
Cocky Italian
Russian drunkard
Stoic Spanish guy (Antonio Banderas-ish)
And one friendly Canadian officer.

Team them up together against the alien hordes and enjoy all the fun.

I quite often took the Mabari in DA:O ... though whether that was because my other half thinks he's nice (she calls him "stripy doggy" since I apply the warpaint) rather than his actual effectiveness .........

She's definitely a dog person :)

I like what I wrote, especially for the 'Romance' section of my template. . .no not like that.

The varren companion would appear at the 'pre-final mission' cutscene if the player character recruited them and romanced no one. The player would sit there for a moment before scratching the varren's chin. Happy scene for everyone!

Hmm part of me is still on the idea of having a companion that's married to an NPC on the same ship as us possibly has a kid but mostly because one I don't think I've seen that before and two if there was ever a situation that arose where you maybe had to defend one of two places and say the companion's loved ones were in one of the places it would be a great chance to have a companion do their own actions like maybe running off to protect their family against your orders if you choose the one they aren't on, or it negatively affect your relationship with them or even better and the one I personally like that if they aren't in your group their with their family and fight there to protect them. Though I suppose you could do this in general with just about any companion. I actually would love to see if there's a time where the base gets attacked the companions we leave behind defend it.

Um guess I strayed a bit off topic there huh? Sorry^^;

I want a companion who does not take things personally but actually prefers when I am direct with them. It would be such a refreshing change because I am bored with how routine companion interaction has become -- be 100% agreeable and they will be your friend just about every time.

You know, once I get an actual Twentieth Companion, I think I'll write up a bit of a story. Come up with a protagonist, maybe add a bit of a 'what comes next' for readers to vote on. . .but there's all sorts of problems that come with this sorta thing:

  1. These characters were given vague backgrounds so they could work in Andromeda. Do I write a piece of fan-fiction before there is anything known about the location we are going to, or do I re-work them to all work for the Milky Way. If I re-write them for the Milky Way, when does the story take place?

  2. If written in the Milky Way, does the story carry out over the course of the Shepard Trilogy, or do they occur before? I won't make it after the events of Mass Effect 3, for reasons. Do I make certain pivotal choices from the Shepard Trilogy canon, or do I ignore them? Do the characters get involved in such things? How much, then, does their story intertwine with the Shepard Trilogy, if at all? The very least that the events of their stories could commence would be post First Contact War but Pre-Mass Effect One. . .

  3. Who would this 'Protagonist' be? Do I write them? Or does someone else write them and then I use them for the story? Do I give them options to choose from in terms of who the protagonist is? Do I let people who read it decide what happens at certain points, or do I write it all regardless of reader input (which means I'll just be the King of the boy/girl scouts. )

I was thinking of someone like a young Kirrahe. We have had 2 nerdy Salarians who can cause trouble (if you count Padok) I want a cocky but intelligent Salarian who uses his energy to be too gung ho, and intelligence for out thinking the military and tactics. I would love a young salarian who thinks of himself as a hotshot. In Old West terms, the young gun who seems like a natural but too much ego and not enough experience.

I think that would be an awesome salarian companion.

Hi, i was really interested in this thread so i'm gonna try to restart the creativity. Here is my first squadmate idea.

Name: Nae'ra t'von-"Neon"

Species: Asari

Background synopsis:

Being raised by her business oriented parents, she grew up in an estranged life from her parents who paid her no attention (she will bring up in conversation how she had an Asari mother and Hanar father). Of course, being an Asari, she is naturally Biotic. Due to her parents' expansive wealth, she was able to gain a broad education, many biotic tutors and many training facilities. While she had planned to become the next business heir to her parents (shady) business empire, she had instead unexpectedly decided to make a dealing with an organisation that specializes in making people disappear without a trace. This organization is called "Mass shift". For 200 years she went through multiple phases of working as a mercenary, pirate and a stripper (gaining the nickname "Neon" in the process"

She is still working as stripper in the club known as "Euphoria" when the player interrupts a confrontation between her and a (rather...frisky) Krogan asking her for favours. You can either paragon interrupt,The PC will say something along the lines of "This isn't something you want to do" along with other options that can be selected after the interrupt. One option convinces him to snap to his senses. The other causes Neon to biotically throw him into a table full of other krogan (as she will be bored with the PC lecturing the krogan about how his seriously inebriated state. very entertaining scene to watch.) The renegade interrupt just results in the PC attacking the Krogan. No warnings. Just a straight up beat down, Neon will say something playfully along the lines of "thanks, you seem to know your way around a fight."

Regardless of how you deal with the Krogan, you can either recruit her by offering her a bigger paycheck or appealing to her sense of adventure and attraction to danger. Or you could just reject her, which leads to her being unavailable unless responding to a later email the PC gets stating a new contract just in case they change their mind.

Personality:

Being experienced in adventure, violence, and other...endearing experiences, she has formed a dismissive demeanor attitude which disregards any serious situation. Think of it as a deflective barrier. She also is playful as well as adventurous, but knows that there is always danger lurking around every corner. She won't be upfront about her personal past, instead she will respond to the player with a phrase of a simple "Not going there", but she is very friendly/ humorous on other topics e.g. her past adventures. She also likes to flaunt her expansive knowledge of science, history, planets etc. when on missions yet mentions the phrases in a streetwise dialect (So liara's intelligence with Jack's streetwise tone.)

She has no interest in adapting her lifestyle to a more civilian standard, and in fact, plans to return to a life of adventure and danger. (think of her as a less psychotic Morinth). She openly rejects most/all traditional Asari ideals as she finds them "too much of a buzzkill". If asked about her real name then she will simply state "I'm not here to make friends"

Appearance:

Her skin is a purplish-blue with deep blue eyes. She has a strong (yet slender) jaw line which ends with a semi-rounded chin, unlike other Asari she has no facial markings which she says symbolizes her "allegiance to no-one. In height terms, she is around 5"4 (shorter than most squadmates) but makes up for it with an hourglass figure and firm rear.

On the Ship (I'm assuming it's Tempest) she will wear a loose-fitting robe covered in Asari patterns which (deliberately) shows too much skin.

On missions she wears a tight fitting commando suit modified with Neon purple light on the shoulder-blades as well as along her back going down to the middle of her rear. She wears no helmet as she jokingly says (she) wants them to "embrace the face of an angry Asari B***h" before they die.

Combat:

Neon is what can be referred to as a "glass cannon" as she can cause massive amounts of damage with biotic explosions yet lacks durability. She uses warp as to prime for detonations as well as slice which is when she pinpoints biotic energy into a thin line that cause solid damage initially upon first contact as well as detonating biotic explosions (this can hit multiple enemies at once. Slam is also a power she can use for causing high damage upon a single enemy. Her loyalty skill is flare which acts as a biotic bomb for dealing high damage (though be prepared to defend her as this skill has a long cool down and her durability is low)

if weapon class seperation is in effect, then she uses an smg and pistol

Moral alignment/ approval:

Neon approves of actions that involve the player taking the most "profitable route" as well as choices that lead to confrontation as "she needs a buzz". She disapproves of the safe routes as she will openly state her need for a challenge. She gets along with squadmates that have had similar adventurous lifestyles to her. Morality wise she would be "chaotic neutral" as she has no malicious goals, she is just doing her job (and enjoying it)

Loyalty mission:

Later on through the game, Neon anxiously requests the PC to speak to her. While speaking to an uncharacteristically desperate Neon, she will mention how her Parent business specialized in selling over-clocked biotic amps. She admits that she has been monitoring the locations of the mainship which her parents live on, and interrupted a distress call stating that they are being attacked by pirates who are trying to steal a new prototype for profitable gains. If the player does more than 2 missions then the ship will have reported to have been destroyed, resulting in Neon angrily confronting the player and then leaving the party without any room for negotiation. With a high renegade, the player can attack her while she is walking away, resulting in the player having to combat fera within the confines of her cabin. The fight ends with her cussing you in her last dying moments. You can cut off this with a renegade interrupt where the PC will snap her neck with their boot. (Samara intro reference *cough cough*)

If the player goes before then, the ship will be intact and The player along with Neon and another squadmate will breach the ship. Upon first walking in, Neon will find her father (a purple Hanar) dead on the floor. This will result in her going into an enraged state, in which Neon coldly states that she will "take care of business on her own". Regardless of how the player tries to convince her that the party stay together on this mission, she goes through the ship in hope of making the invaders pay and saving her mother. As you travel the ship you can find biotic amp upgrades (surprise, surprise) and will encounter surviving pirates (with low health assuming Neon damaged them yet didn't bother killing them in her rampage) while seeing sights of destroyed rooms due to Neons power-rage.

After this you will find an injured Asari with similar feature to Neon, who turn out to be her mother. You and your squadmate must protect her (a health bar will be presented) as you continually progress through the ships and more pirates. Her mother can use pull and warp, so she isn't just annoying fodder with no self-defense. When you get to the labs, you will find a still-enraged Neon repeatedly slamming the (presumable) chief to a pulp. This can then result in Neon either having an angry confrontation with her mother (If the player was aggressive/renegade) or forgiving/ glad to see her mother is okay. (Paragon/altruistic). If she is within an angry confrontation in which she questions her mothers' antic with the business and blames hr for her fathers' death, a decent paragon will give the option which fully convinces her to appreciate her mothers' safety (this option isn't needed if the first outcome occurs). Otherwise she ends up leaving her mother on the ship (which the player can bring the mother on the ship where they can drop her off on a nearby hub planet or leave her). Either outcome results in Neons' loyalty.

If her mother was forgiven, she will mention that she hopes to re-establish lost time with her and may even be willing to "try and live the life they knew best for me". If not forgiven, she will state that she hopes her mother "gets what she deserves" and even "may come for her myself".

After this mission she will slowly reveal that she suspected that her parents' business had shady dealings and ran away to escape as she didn't want to harbor responsibility for her parents mistakes. She will also reveal her true name (Nae'ra t'von) and become more trusting of the player, asking him/her for advice on occasion.

Romance:

Only when loyal she can be romanced by a playable character of either gender and morality alignment. She will slowly yet enticingly respond to flirtations made by the player, which will eventually result in one of the three outcomes.

-She will firstly suggest a no-strings attached sexual relationship, which can be rejected or taken into stride

-She will state her desire for a committed relationship if rejection of the "sex only" relationship option was chosen. You will see a more vulnerable yet loving side to her.

-You can state that you change your mind and therefore close off any romance options.

Note:

Rejecting her doesn't affect her loyalty, nor does pursuing any type of relationship

Other:

i hope you guys enjoyed this post  :P
