Just for United States and Canada?
Awwww, I had a cool idea I wanted to send them
. Oh well.

I think you have to use abilities from the approved list, guys.
For some reason I didn't see that the first time I read it. Oh well. I recognize all of the things on the list except for "Meditation Duration Modifier". Does anyone know what that is? I haven't seen Avoid Killing Blow in SP, but apparently it's in MP on some new gear.
Anyway, I suggest to everyone that all of their submissions incorporate Maximum Mana - no matter what their ideas are or if it makes sense - because there is currently no way to increase mana, even though you can increase stamina substantially. So yeah. Everyone do that.

If they're going to have you be able to increase armour, or increase front armour like a shield, why not have Berserk or Heal on Hit? I love Heal on Hit. I also think it would be really weird to have a belt that increased your front armour.
Anyway, rambling, sorry.
I can't enter officially as I'm in the EU... But I love DA so much I wanted to participate, so I sent it anyway. I don't care about the prizes and they can do whatever they want with my item/story. ![]()
I really had fun writing it, that's what really counts after all, right?
"This Contest is only open to residents of the 50 United States and the District o
Columbia and Canada (except Quebec) who are 17 years of age or older at time of entry and who
had Internet access as of July 8, 2015."
Seriously, BW? Your European players are not worthy even to participate in a short fanfic contest?.. Ok, if yoг say so....
Pfft, I'm going to share the item I just created with them whether they want it or not. Screw geography and regulations, I'm submitting it ![]()
I don't care about winning anything anyway.
(The country thing has been discussed before, though, it's legislature and due to legal mumbo-jubo, not BW's fault)
From VG247 - and if I could vote on it, this would be my winner:

Not a bad burn, I'll admit.

Blame your own country's laws. Government regulations are what make it difficult for EA to run a contest across international lines with a prize attached.
Staff of Plushie Pacification
The staff projects a stream of mabari & nug plushies at the target causing them to collapse into cuddly unconsciousness for 6-8 hours.

.....I just want Sheogorath's Wabbajack. I want a random chance of turning anyone into a sweetroll!
Okay, so I think I'll put together four entries, then send them in at once. The first one is designed for pyromaniacs ![]()
I checked the accessories list on the wiki, some of the effects on the this list seem all new, atleast for accessories.
Is it accessories only? If so they should have included weapons, lots of potential for dairy products to shine.
But then again, nothing beats the staff with kittens tied to it.
Amulets, belts, and rings only. Probably because they don't need ingame models.
I sent in four entries: two rings, one belt and one amulet. Now we play the waiting game.
...
Eh, the waiting game sucks. Who wants to play Hungry Hungry Hippos?

Well, let's face it - those will likely be mostly descriptions and stats: something that likely can be coded in very easily. Though it doesn't mean that it still isn't fun - having own description and a little story for an item with unique effects ![]()
I know, it's just something fun for the fans. Um... have they ran out of ideas? ![]()

I was waiting for someone to suggest that. I knew it would happen eventually.

I think we've been pretty clear about what we want? ![]()
Makes sense! Good luck to the participants; I feel at least one should submit The One Ring boosting Stealth - because things can't be so terribly original all the time.
Should I make this my fifth entry? ![]()
Name: That One Ring
Type: Ring
Effect: Enter stealth when not attacking during combat
-5 Willpower
Backstory Text: (There is an inscription on the outside of the band)
One King to rule them all, One ring to make them
One ring to bring them all and through the blood bind them
There’s an old Tevinter campfire story that used to be a myth that used to be a legend. It says that old King Carinatus of Barindur turned away from the Old Gods because he had become an abomination, and was secretly bribing his nobles to worship him under the name Saurius using gifts of land and gold. He’d concocted a plan to mind control the rulers of Qarinus, Neromenian, and Tevinter through the use of magic rings presented as diplomatic gifts. Some say he had plans to send rings to the king of the dwarves and elven envoys. Apparently, the blood magic ritual required to make this spell work didn’t quite go as planned. Carinatus’ knife slipped and cut off his ring finger. This somehow caused a mystical chain reaction that destroyed Barindur.
The tale is dubious, but the ring seems magical enough. Just try to ignore the whispers.
xD
I dare someone to submit The Wondrous Chastity Belt - +500 to all stats as long as Inquisitor stays un-romanced ;P (no flirting too!)

For a contest like this, maybe the prize should have simply been having your gear in the game? Then anyone could participate.
