Although Bioware forums have their own version of Godwin's law. As a thread grows longer, the probability of romances or the ending controversy being mentioned increases exponentially regardless of the topic.

 

Actually the Dragon Age forums also have an equivalent. The longer a thread grows the greater the likelihood someone will mention romances or The Witcher.

The Problem is, that the Race, their Appearance as well as their Lore and in most Parts even their Presentation is oriented majorly towards being sexy, revolving around their Sexualities and Attractions in one Way or another. They are sending the wrong Message.

 

That is blatantly untrue. Yes, we see many asari dancers(some would call them strippers, which would be blatantly untrue as well) in the first game, but at the same time, we also see there are other things they practice. Nassana Dantius is a good example. A corrupted, lying bureaucrat that will jump through hoops to make you do her dirty work. Her sister, which she send you out to kill is a leader of mercenary slaver ring. You meet her again in second game and surprise, surprise...she hasn't put on a provoking dancer garment. In fact, she's pretty much the same as she was.

 

Second game shows us that asari are far more than a race of dancers and strippers. Illium is a perfect example where you can meet all sorts of asari and only one of them(if memory serves right) is a dancer. Von uber's post with pictures(which you conveniently chose to ignore) illustrates that perfectly.

 

Third game, we see that they are actually pretty deadly. If all else fails, there's that quote from turians in the codex. You know, the one that says that asari are the best warriors in the galaxy. Good thing there is so few of them.

 

As anybody who has played or has seen a competently played asari kit in multiplayer(any of them!) will tell you, they are pretty damn nasty bitches.

 

Yeah, they put their natural gifts to good use. It's one of the reasons why they are on top of pecking order in this shitty galaxy of ours.

 

In short, me thinks thou dost protest too much.And see things you want to see, not the ones that are really there.
