I would rather the quarians get a redesign. I like that this science fiction fantasy has the very human-looking aliens, but only one race is enough, and it should have remained the asari. Making the asari appear slightly less human undermines the idea behind their design.

 same thing goes with their universal sexual compatibility. It should've remained with the Asari. It was one of their defining characteristics. But now everything is ****able.  Fan service is a joke.

I am sure that there are some cockroach or spider fetishes out in the dingy corners of the internet, but they would be in the extreme minority.

Asari are still the only universally sexually compatible species in the setting. Just because the others have holes and protrusions to stick on/in each other doesn't mean they actually work together properly. 

If they start introducing hybridization nonsense, I'll agree with you though.

It would actually be kind of interesting across multiple games to have a family and eventually get your son/daughter as a squadmate.

 

Though not entirely certain how it would work with the varied timeframes to adulthood for each species, or being able to reproduce with every species being possible or not.

Yeah, although maybe without the "I came back from the future" and overall feeling that I'm really just getting people to bang for the purposes of their kids having better stats and skills.

Of course, they could go full retard Star Trek and just let every species be compatible with every other because reasons, but even then the only one that would make sense as a squadmate without first taking at least 20 years of growth, conditioning and training to get there is a vorcha.

It depends on which species they let us romance, though the Asari timing is the main issue. It's more something I thought would be an interesting idea for BioWare to do, though probably not in a Mass Effect game since the species thing would require a story workaround that would ultimately be stupid.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with making Asari "uniquely beautiful", much like DA2 elves and darkspawn.

 

Think of it as a quality of life enhancement to your immersion.
