Anyway, back to ME. I don't think there is anything wrong with the Asari. They are powerful biotics and they are intelligent and attractive. They are basically a race of what could be considered perfection. They are also blue/teal/purple, have scales and tentacle like things in place of hair. They seem pretty alien to me, I don't know.

So, why is perfection defined by having bodies identical to female humans?
If they looked like Orana or the darkspawn, then I'd consider it pretty alien looking. It seems to me that you're just a fan of the sexualization, which isn't a bad thing.

The Asari are about as alien as most other ME races - which is to say not very, both in physical and mental traits.
Why can't ME races be more alien?
A. Because it is easier to make "Aliens" humanoids that use the same animations, weapons, etc.
B. To make them easier to relate to. Many would find it hard to relate to a space cockroach.
C. Because romance. If they are going to have romance with aliens, they need to be compatible to humans physically in many ways.
As far as I am concerned they can throw romance out, for a number of reasons. And if that would open the way for more Alien Aliens, all the better.

do you know what you get without a company to bring down the "Sell it NOW!" hammer? Half-Life 3. Better to have a few amazing games out of 20 or so mediocre ones and 10 or so almost great ones if the alternative is a much slower production rate.

Personally, I would rather wait. My life does not revolve around games coming out at a set schedule so waiting for a completed game is easy. My work and other hobbies keep me happy in the interim so even if it takes years, I'm fine.
HL3 was, how should I put this... carp. I give you that. But, setting a sell date and then forcing something not ready out the door because of an arbitrary date is as bad, if not worse, than letting development continue for years and years.

If you've ever modded a bethesda game before as I have then you probably know of the pain of working without an arbitrary set schedule. I am one of the thousands of people who have delved deep into the skyrim nexus, the steam workshop, reddit and all of them to seek out hundreds, literal hundreds of mods that I want in my game. I spend months looking at them, watching youtube videos, reading read mes, seeing what they're all about, pondering how they combine together, opening them up with third party tools to do a deep analysis of them, only to find I need to do some patching and merging of my own. All of that for a 2-3 week play through on a brand new character.
That is the sort of behavior that is prevented when EA insists on a schedule. The work is never done.

There is only one simple explanation

First you do realize that asari don't perhaps look as they seem.
It has been hinted many times in game that asari's look appear different to every race, to be more exact they appear to other races as their own.(you can confirm that in ME2 on Ilium at bachelor party, in where first two friends have to persuade their salarian friend into even coming but slowly out of nowhere he starts taking interest and they all claim that asari looks as their own race and comment that perhaps asari could be controlling them to see them as attractive!)
And this was hinted more then once in game about possible mind controlling which does make sense because let's be honest, female humans look exactly like asari(or how they appear to look to us at least) but aliens are not that into humans calling our anatomy weird and etc. so why would they be interested in asari then since they are like blue version of us? Think! Why does every race in ME find asari attractive, when they look nothing like them at all? So again this mind controlling theory does have a water to it. Plus it wouldn't be nothing new, as we all know in Witcher sorceress do same thing in order to appear attractive when their real face could give you nightmares for life. So in my opinion if this theory of "asari are masking their real face like Witcher's sorceresses" proves to be correct(and so far lot of things are pointing at it) then asari are most alien out of alien races then, because as far as we know asari could turn out to actually be looking like this:

So Asari can attract species around the world for mating purposes
and for ardat-yakshi to hunt them for sport
