I like to picture an Asari in a tuxedo t-shirt because it says "I want to be formal, but I'm here to party." Because I like to party, and I think she does too.
Asari have been redesigned in the same vein as Dragon Age's elves.

I like the DA2 Elves, however, the elven Race in DA could be saved (DA:I improved on that matter further).
The Asari cannot.
They have been completely and solely designed around the fact that they're the hot alien Chicks and completely outfitted with Bullshit Lore to make them especially willing to **** other Species. No Redesign could change the complete Mess they are.
The Asari have to be left behind in the Milky Way and fed to the Reapers or something. Just get rid of the stereotypical hot alien Chicks and everything is fine.
It's been a month since the last point, but I feel like we can look back on this and consider just how amazing the Bioware team has done in making the Asari unique. Appearance wise, that is, as we know nothing about them in the game as of yet.
In Andromeda, it appears that they have entirely near features, allowing to possibly move beyond the star trek alien space babe with weird colored skin. In the beginning, I suppose that was fine, that was great for the campy feel of the series' beginning. Now however, it has become something greater, something unique and I have high hopes for the current version of Asari.
Behold! The future!

To be fair, this is the first time an Asari has shown up in a MEA trailer. The Krogan are front and center in marketing this time, after humans obviously.

I mean, I guess it has to do with the less civilized direction they're taking the series.

My eyesight is horrible and I haven't been following this issue closely at all, so I don't know if Bioware has commented on it. However, might it be possible that the eyebrows in the picture are paint like the rest of it that she has on her face? It looks like the same shade to me, just with a little bit more lighting added because it's higher up. Maybe we've got an Asari who likes eyebrows and painted herself some because she wants some
Another thing I'd like to suggest is maybe the hair for the eyebrows has always been there on all Asari, but the paint just makes it visible to us? Can't recall seeing an Asari with that much of a painted face before.
Otherwise, yeah, it'd be kind of horrible to redesign them like this. I don't dislike the eyebrows, but that isn't an Asari trait and is thus wrong.

In my opinion, no. I felt that this is a step in the right direction.
If anything, Bioware has done an amazing job.

Honestly, to me, she looks like every other Asari I've ever seen. Small differences because they should not all look alike. That would be weird and lazy design.
The eyebrows, I could care less about those. The Asari probably wax all their body hair off..some cultural thing. But since we're in Andromeda, who cares. Or she hasn't had time to get to the spa for a waxing seeing as how we just woke up from stasis after spending centuries traveling to another galaxy.

Which it can be....
They really messed up one of their Alien races and essentially, did do a DA2.
The only things that looked good in DA2 were Qunari and Isabella.
So theres hope at least the Krogan and the human will look good.
So there's that.
IF however they ARE trolling.
They've raised a few zombie facts that really needed to be put down earlier.
I honestly do see people looking at that picture and deciding that Mass Effect died with Shepard.

Maybe this design is uniue for particular asari shown in the trailer.

I really like her and hope she makes it into the game. She's the first Asari I've seen that doesn't give off the vibe of stereotyped space babe. Her look and few minutes of animation showed a fun relatable character that I'd like to meet. If this is the direction Bioware is going with for the Asari, I'm happy.

Why?
She doesn't look like she was designed as wish fulfilment for men like the rest of the Asari. She's not overly beautiful with her secondary sex characteristics amped up. I sort of cringe laugh at the fact that by ME3 Liara's boobs were bigger than her head.
To be fair, I was off-put by Thane as well; his race was supposedly designed as ****** bait for women. He did nothing for me. I much prefer the species that were designed to be unique and interesting first and not designed for titillation.

We don't know whether her breasts will be large or not. And she's not exactly average looking - a lot of it is really thrown off by 1) the angle and smile, that puffs up her face a bit and 2) she doesn't have hair, and that really changes how one's face looks. She doesn't look like she was designed as wish fulfilment for men like the rest of the Asari.
