No, I prefer the designs remain as they are. Dragon Age doesn't know what the heck they want anything to look like cause they lack an identity. I'd rather ME not follow that same road.
Asari have been redesigned in the same vein as Dragon Age's elves.

Asari SHOULD be redisigned. Make them more... androgynous looking. The all female thing has to go. It's silly and obvious fan service.
Quarians are fine. Just get rid of the guddam suits and masks. Or just the masks.
Krogan looked sick from that teaser last year, they're still awesome.
Hanar look very silly. I like the idea behind them, but give them SOME edge. I want to see a serious hanar that looks like its capable of defending itself. Give them some gills and tendrils on their tentacles or something.

Don´t get the Asari hate. The most overrated species in ME is humanity anyways. Made council species in 30 years, grabbed a big chunk of the galaxy, kicked the biggest galactic military off Shanxi.
I mean that´s in the wiki about Shanxi:
In response, the turians began mobilizing for full-scale war. However, after seeing the turians forced off of Shanxi, the Citadel Council realised just how well-trained, equipped and adaptable the Alliance forces were, and understood that a war between the turians and the Alliance could be devastating to the galaxy. They intervened and brokered a truce.
Oh please, we could have kicked turian ass enough to disrupt/devastate the galaxy, a total newcomer species who doesn´t know anything about other species or war in space against the guys whose whole nation is geared for war and are the peacekeepers of the galaxy for 1500 years?
Why didn´t we blew up the Reapers when they invade Earth. Yeah this whol harvesting stuff is nice dudes but we are humans. We can kill everything.
It´s on the same level of BS as that stuff about first contact war.
The biggest fanservice was Miranda anyways, waving her butt right in front of the cam. ![]()

You kidding? Zaeed mentions a Hanar choking one of his buddies to death once. Their unassuming appearance lulls us all into a false sense of security and then BAM!

In all seriousness, I think that this is the Hanar MO in regards to the rest of the galaxy. When I first saw them and how the Hanar carried themselves in conversation, I thought their depiction was very similar to the Japanese social rule of extreme politeness in public.
The Hanar hold themselves very aloof, and they tend to (outside of extreme examples) have a very calm demeanor when speaking to other species, even when the other is being openly hostile; calling them big stupid jellyfish essentially to their face, etc. They also only refer to themselves in third person by their face name when interacting with strangers as they view the personal pronouns to be too intimate for public display. Most of the other species tend to view these cultural constructs to be mostly foolish and weird, but the Hanar's almost dual-istic nature makes them a lot more complicated than they appear.
For instance most species assume that the Hanar are mostly pacifists and/or are incapable of physical confrontation; which is why they use the Drell as bodyguards. But then if that is the case, how was one able to nearly kill Zaeed? More importantly, if the Drell are selected and trained as bodyguards and assassins on the Hanar homeworld, who does the training?

I guess hanar just look like a joke because we can't see them being agile out off an aquatic environment. But that could be easly corrected if they developed a jetpack-like-thing that is guided by their bioluminecense ability, so they could move as quickly and smoothly as underwater. Unfortunately, I just don't see a way of making the a plot-device enhancement like that for an Elcor lol

Why would an Elcor need a 'motion enhancer'?
They only move slowly because of the high gravity of their homeworld. In an environment with five times less gravity, an Elcor could just flex its muscles and leap fifty feet in the air.

The Elcor already have it. They developed heavy weapons that can be fired from their backs, becoming "living tanks".

That's exactly Dragon Age's problem. Does it want to be medieval KOTOR? Does it want be medieval Mass Effect? Does it want to be TES: Thedas?
I don't know! I'm not sure if anyone knows, or even if it is possible to know.

Keep their design as is but make it so that they are supermodel tall, or taller than Human women. I noticed Liara was slightly taller than my femShep. It won't make them masculine, but making them a little bit taller or on par with Human male height or Turian female height could give them a stronger appearance to female gamers and not make them appear weak and fragile. Give them some variety and detail to their faces, so they don't all look related or identical. Give them some more color variations.
Or, perhaps...

The all female thing is part of the lore, so with that it wouldn't just be a change in art direction but also a retcon.
An all female species actually isn't that silly. There is a species of whiptail lizard in the Southwestern U.S. and Mexico that is all female and reproduces through parthenogenesis. Life is weird.
Biotics and mind melds on the other hand...

Asari are space elves though. Monogender and skin colour aside, they're taken straight out of the fantasy playbook of impossibly long lived supposedly wise and ancient race with strange powers who are inevitably hiding things the protagonist needs because of their own insufferable arrogance.
so, elves have a monopoly on long life and powers? Must've never heard of a sorceress or a wizard.
Also, an excerpt from The Art of the MEU book: "To add a familiar element of science-fiction fantasy, we decided one of the main species in Mass Effect would be a race of beautiful, alien girls."
they were playing on the Twi'Lek trope. Not integrating elves into space.

That's a pretty neat trick you have there. You know, where you say I'm saying something I actually didnt.
I suppose it makes winning arguments easier, putting words in the other peron's mouth. You look like you need all the help you can get on that front.

They weren't really significant enough.
Even if I did include them, it'd only to be that they're cool cats and that Bioware did a great job and that the people behind them need a raise.

You lost the argument fair and square. It would seem you have a hard time remembering what nonsense you spew, yet an easy time coming up with poor excuses to defend it. No words were put in your mouth. Try again....

But then they couldn't recycle the same animations for every character!
Seriously though, the problem with going nonhumanoids is a gameplay issue.
Also Ive always found Asari to be kinda ugly. Liara at least.
Most of them just kinda remind me of "White people with dreads" and all the lack of hygiene that implies.
I think Asari should take more cues from the Banshee design. That is, taller, elongated limbs and torso, more ornate head fringes, etc. That would make them sufficiently more "alien" rather than "Human with weird hair"
I know why they are making them like that, just saying it will still feel like a human to me even if they give them blue skin or 4 eyes like the batarians.
I totally expect to fight loads of "aliens" in Andromeda that are not Humans just because Bioware says their not even if they look exactly like one.
