What I don't understand is why certain people have trouble with a race being sexy...can a group of person have a free view on sexuality, seduction and progressive if not provocative dress code without falling into accusation of being stereotypes? If then we are debating about this then every alien race is a stereotype of humanity in this game.....are salarians the stereotype of a scientifically driven society? Aren't turians the steretype of a militaristic society? So why these are ok while if asari are the stereotype of human sexual fantasies then it's not ok? Some people here have really an issue with sexuality.

We'll maybe they should balance it by making a sexy male race for the female gamers. Turians, Salarians, and Krogan just. don't. cut. it! Sexy, rugged Batarian men would be a great start. Or they could just bring back those Drell dudes thriving naked on some desert world.

That was before the final designs were released. Behold, avian funbags

Spoiler

I think its a error, because there is Turians in ME2 who call it bump things, so I doubt they have boobies.

And Tali have tiny boobs plates in that pic.

I know and that is why the dev (Patrick Weekes I think?) clarified the "supposed boobs" was shadowing...lol. I think someone on the art team was desperate to make her sexy. Boobs or not, I am not interested in getting my d**k guillotined by those raser-sharp lips and t-rex teeth.

On-topic! I would like to see a F/F-only Asari romance in ME:A. Give this hypothetical Asari squadmate preferences. She likes Asari and Human females only, which would make sense that she would be evolutionarily programmed to desire something resembling her own species.

well this wouldn't make any sense since gender for them is pointless. They don't have preferences since the melding isn't connected with traditional sexuality. You apply human standards to an alien race who actually prefer different species for mating.

It makes sense! They go for asses or big boob racks. They like the mammaries! The mated with Asari before they met different sapient species, so they are programmed to prefer Asari (big boobs are a preference).

I think they could get away with a F/F only Asari.

Just like humans I'm sure there would be people with their own individual preferences.

My problem is the exact opposite, I don't find them sexy at all. They can be as seductive and sexually liberated as Bioware want for all I care, that has never been my problem with them.

This was actually something I expected to be the norm. Why would a species made up of all females hitch up with anything other than a Asari or the females of a species who look like them? It makes no sense for anything other then a single digit percentage minority to be interested in the males of a species, if any at all.

The Asari in general as a biological impossibility don't make sense at all so I guess it's consistent.

Fine by me.

Ehh I just realize some people here just want to take away romance option from straight guys. Why you want to limit and take away romances from us?....it's just hate. Not going to argue any further. BW will do what they think is best.

Thats because you are projecting human attraction to the Asari. It already stated that they find more attractive personality, not appearences (Liara's dad even had a kid with a hanar).

Like a guy who'll only date blondes, or Asians? Yeah, they would exist.

When and where, subsequently? I remember no such mention in ME2, and further the ME3 character models are later and thus would take canonical precedence anyway. That quarian armor is flat across the bust, and would not deflect projectiles into the center of the chest nor result in blunt trauma if she fell on it, thus isn't "boob armor".

Funny, I've never seen a three dimensional shadow. Unless those two turians are stuffing their shirts, they have boobs.

They should have fun with that in the game. Put a flirt option in there with an Asari NPC and have it result in an epic fail....

"Ugh...get lost, human. I only date Turians."

Isn't the whole breed with other species also a social adaptation to the stigma of having an Ardat-Yakshi?

Yeah, like I said the artist was desperate to give her boobs, since you know boobs are an important indication of being a female in the universe. <_< And the dev was trying his hardest to explain that away. They also put boobs on Drell, and I think Drell infants eat solid food.

It was also said in one of their planet descriptions that when the Asari were tribal primitives they'd seek out Asari from other tribes for bondmates. I think the whole shacking up with aliens thing was supposed to be an outgrowth of that.

Ah, yes the Ardat-Yakshi.

The Mass Effect 2-Samara: "There are three of them we know of."

The Mass Effect 3-Samara: "Here is a cloister full of them."

Those missleading-numbers-Ardat-Yakshi?

Because if there were only so many Ardat-Yakshi to fill a single cloister, than that stigma seems to be overrated, in my opinion.

Human attraction? What? This is not something exclusive to humans, a species of any kind is more attracted to its own species, that's how biology works. The Asari are literally an anomaly, one pulled from the backside of Bioware.
