Solas is the only one who has to wear that helmet. It isn't a bad helmet... apart from the fact that the nose guard is completely buried in his face... but it's strange that he should wear one when no one else does.
Was he made to wear it by the palace Major Domo as a mark of his "elven servant" status?
Did he don it himself as a way to reflect the waves of stupidity that radiate from nearly everyone at the Winter Palace?
Was it originally part of the uniform, but somebody decided it looked ridiculous, so they removed it... and forgot about Solas?
Was it a practical consideration by the level design team because the candlelight reflected blindingly from his scalp?
Does he plan to use it as en emergency punch bowl if something happens to the one in the banqueting hall?
Is it a way for him to smuggle concealed weapons through the metal detectors?
