Would an Ark sent to another galaxy be without children? I don't think so. If the mission is only exploratory they can leave the kids out.

Even Skyrim had kids in it. They were annoying too. But necessary because it made the world feel more alive.

 

Most annoying part of them was that you couldn't kill them.

hmm.....If they want colonize whole galaxy they need to do a lot of babies..... I think whole ME:A story --> colonization.... will be all about making babies. Remember LT Commander William Riker from Star Trek? He was quite a "coloniser" able to romance even with wood if only it has appropriate "interface" . So yes story will be about colonization . 

No full metal armor... just self removing trousers.

Grunt is technically a child, I'd say a kid hitting puberty or a young adult entering adulthood.  Liara said she'd be considered a child in Asari terms (or something the likes of).

That would require a progression of time mechanic similar to the narrative structure in DA2.  Can't say I'm too excited about that.

 

Let alone the idea of producing children as a game mechanic.  Wouldn't exactly call that Fable's finest hour, and I think it'd be wise to keep the Sims-style content limited to environment customization.

I'm 100% sure Liara "took care" of Shepard's genetic heritage. Ofc her child will be asari.. So who tell Shepard is no more?

It will never ever happen but I thought it would be interesting to have a optional background that includes a spouse and kid. They don't need to even necessarily show up in the game. Maybe they get left behind in the Milky Way.

In fact, I've got a game for everyone in this forum that seems to think the story should be shaped about how each individual person feels: It's called The Sims.

 

You may have heard of it. It's a life simulator. You can download mods and play the game anyway you want - the story is yours to shape and fold! People can be trans, hate themselves and/or  be terrible people!

 

Stop trying to shape RPGs to fit your world view.
