I would say it would be nice to have families in the game and if this was a Bethesda game I would say " and please make them killable" but since this is Bioware title I will just say please make the children likable. I don't wanna regret supporting this idea and wish I can shank a kid like you can't just like in Skyrim you know.

Yea thats look exactly like colonization ship to me.

remember colonization wagons that were traveling across America in XVIII-XIX century. They had no sterile vessel like NCC1701 A They had dirty wagons with their families with them. Well to be true..  during that time family relations were on quite different level than now. They had family law above all--> blood relations, bloody vendetta and gunfights and as many children as their wifes could bear because children were dying fast.

Well like I said, I don't want to feel the need to kill them for their smarta$$ comments. Bethesda games are notorious for putting rude children in the game that you just absolutely wanna kill lol

No thanks. I'm fine with them existing in the universe as long as I don't have to talk with them and as long as they're silent, but I'd rather not have to interact with them. I definitely don't want a child to be central to the plot or in some way in the team. 

 

 

 

It will never ever happen but I thought it would be interesting to have a optional background that includes a spouse and kid. They don't need to even necessarily show up in the game. Maybe they get left behind in the Milky Way.

 

That's father of the year right there. Ditch your kids and wife and head to another galaxy. Don't forget to romance that hot asari on your ship for the complete douchebag experience.

But I do not want to start new colony with sterile clean white spacecraft with gazillion of procedures, breeding tanks and star fleet officers dressed  in stiff irreproachable uniforms. They may do such a game but I'm not buying it.

I want atmosphere of  wild west, shady characters, true explorers, gunfight  "sex and violins".

Maybe they have genes bank with them. But I think every child needs a mother.

What? No changing diapers and bottle feeding every 4 hours in game? What about dealing with the issues of transgendered children? They're people too you know! What do you have against realism in game?

In fact, I've got a game for everyone in this forum that seems to think the story should be shaped about how each individual person feels: It's called The Sims.

The Sims also functions as an RPG.
 

You may have heard of it. It's a life simulator. You can download mods and play the game anyway you want - the story is yours to shape and fold! People can be trans, hate themselves and/or  be terrible people!
 
Stop trying to shape RPGs to fit your world view.

The point of an RPG is to role-play, e.g., operate as a "life simulator". Though most of them include combat, there are probably better genres for that - like combat simulators.

Providing more options for role-play is a good thing in an RPG.

If you start to think about it i we haven't seen the child version for any other alien species. but if they haven't even shown female versions of all of them i don't think children will be coming anytime soon. like we only seen female turians and krogans atm
