I think it might be a little difficult to do anything with the protag having kids though what with all the fighting and what not that'll be bound to happen, I mean I play a lot of HM and RF so I can suspend my disbelief  that my character or their partner could carry a child safely while doing all this dangerous stuff but I can very much understand how others wouldn't be able to.

Child NPCs just hanging around or a child of a squadmate though I think would be much easier to do and maybe something they should try to get down first before tackling how to handle the protag having kids if such a thing were to get tackled at all.

Yes, have kids in the game world. And I, personally, would like to talk to them just like any other npc. Kids are cool. Lil crumb snatchers that they are.

But they can be brutally honest and can have interesting, insightful views on things. Moreso than some adults who have been...well, crusty-fied...by decades of life.

I'd like to see more variety with their npc models in general.

edit: i don't think they should be on ship, though. but in the game world at large? yeah.

What about a child squadmate?

I don't think that'll work out so well, well maybe a tiny krogan but I think most other children would be way to squishy for that.

True, maybe have like a scout with a cloak who sends drones and highlights enemy weak points or something?

Child agents probably could be useful if they were utilize maybe in the same way Thane used them or similar at least, but a full on kid squady I don't see working out well at all. And now the messed part of me wants child agents to use in spying matters like that

After living with Star Trek through most of my childhood, this sort of thing doesn't really get to me. The asari's parthenogenesis is better than vulcans and klingons being able to have half-human hybrids.

Star Trek had the "ancient humanoids" explanation. It was bullshit, because there was like 4.5 billion years between them seeding the galaxy and the species we see whom can all reproduce with each other getting space travel (considering humans can't even reproduce with chimps who probably have a common ancestor from only a few million years ago).

But yeah, anyone raised on ST can't possibly be mad at asari reproduction.

We have many creatures on Earth who can reproduce via parthenogenesis. There is even a species of lizard, the New Mexico Whiptail, that is an all female species that reproduces this way.

The odd child in the background is fine, if they are mute or dialogue is limited and non-looped.  I don't even mind if the concept of kids is important to the underlying mission, such as the genophage storyline. Repopulating whatever colony we end up on is most likely going to be important somehow after all.

But an actual child NPC we have to interact with or listen too... no... BIG NO.

I honestly think half the problems with the ME3 ending is because it came out of an annoying child.

Geth are not born, they're built. There are no Child Geth.

If a Geth was built by another Geth, the newly built Geth is by definition a child of the other Geth. Thus Geth children.   :D

I was thinking that if there are children, should they be killable? Like not die in the explosion but being shot randomly as casualty. It seems like something that would be too dark for Bioware to try.

I think that if you can accidentally shoot adult NPCs in a fire fight the same should go for the kids as well but if accidentally shooting normal NPCs isn't possible then neither should be shooting kid NPCs.
