I think that if you can accidentally shoot adult NPCs in a fire fight the same should go for the kids as well but if accidentally shooting normal NPCs isn't possible then neither should be shooting kid NPCs.

Something just to depict the horror of war like you see people get killed or shot in cutscenes like in Dragon Age Inquisition, we see men and women get killed or in Mass Effect, random soldiers get shot. I'm not saying you kill them yourself, but maybe a surprise attack on a colony or an invasion where you see people get killed. It would be dark to see children get shot and such. Even in zombie movies, they avoid using children or at least showing children being devoured since that is a lot more cruel than to see an adult gets killed.

How detailed would you like to see it though? Like maybe a crowd of people getting grouped together and shot? I ask cause technically ME3 did show a kid dying with their shuttle being cleaved in half by a Reaper beam so I'm just curious on how much of it you think or you would like them to show.

Personally, I just don't want to see them discriminated in term of showing deaths. Maybe an invasion where they shoot randomly and children gets killed alongside the adults, or cutscenes where you see people which may or may not be children be throw by biotic and such. I'm not saying children should be targeted specifically, but just randomly or if it fits with a story. Children being killed off-screen happen very often as which ME but they never show on-screen since it's considered cruelty. Even with Skyrim, you are not allowed to kill kids. If done right, it could even evoke emotions from the gamers since it brings in the darkness of wars. That's just my personal take on it.

I think all should be fair game especially if it makes sense in the setting like how ME3 was in a war setting then again aside from the attack on the Citdel or that place Jacob was hanging around I don't recall many places that were attacked that you could see kids or it would make a lot of sense to see kids in. Unless you want to count Grissiom academy which I can't recall if it had any dead teenagers in it or not to be honest I know you saw one being dragged away pleading and begging but that was all.

You see Cerberus gun down one of the students. One of the troopers confronts the other but the other says something like it's alright since they weren't high on the list. 

Then if Jack isn't there Prangley gets killed on the way to the shuttle after rescuing Rodriguez.

Bioware should create belieable populations, meaning most age stages, body variants an sex genders: Up to MassEffect 3 I thought most aliens were male gender(as oppossed to Asaris). Only quarians had females and males appearing(ME2).
They definetively should add kids, since they are the continuity of life, and therefore one of the most important things for most living beings, specially for intelligent beings.

But people SHOULD ALSO CONSIDER the chances: Andromeda wont have our old beloved alien races, Andromeda will have new aliens, unless this N7 hero comes to Andromeda with some alien allies, and doubt theyll bring childre to dangerous unknown places. That would be like Cristobal Colon bringing kids when discovering america.

As long as they aren't as annoying as they were in Skyrim/FO3's Little Lamplight sure. 

 

If they're going for the realism thing I'd be happier with different body shapes (tall, short, fat, skinny, fit) and visible ages (young adult, middle aged, elderly). They did a pretty good job of that in ME for the most part (except that everyone happened to be as fit as Shepard). Don't care that they're all adults.

As much as I'd like to see more 'realistic' things like children, I think we're better off wishing for more than 2 body types per species.
