A lot of people believe that he's Disney's first gay villain. First gay character, really. And that the writers intended it that way, but that it was downplayed after the script stage because they didn't want to make the sexuality of the character an issue in a Disney film.

 

Of course, no one will ever know for sure if it's true, since they obviously chose not to include anything that would confirm it one way or another, but if you watch the animators' performance with the voice actor's performance throughout the film... it is very nuanced.

Okay, Ratigan is awesome because 1) He is the anthropomorphic rat version of James Moriarty from "Sherlock Holmes," 2) He wears a cape, 3) He is a RAT that has a PET CAT.

 

 

To add to his list of awesome traits, he's also voiced by Vincent Price.

This lady has always been my favorite. I can't really put my finger on why. Maybe because she can turn into a dragon I don't know.

Well, based on the sequels where there is a child of his, there would be at least SOME evidence of heterosexuality, even if it was just to procreate.
