I didn't know Bethesda made characters.

She is still the only woman to ever give me a mini nuke.
Her voice was annoying and she asked me to do stupid ****. I don't regret blowing up the town.

Annoying? I thought it was endearing.

And she's still positive and nice to you even after...
Don't get me wrong, I like her for being optimistic, but it's feel weird in this circumstance.

Well, I never did that, but I did see the sequence on YouTube and it seemed like she didn't believe you were actually responsible for it. Plus, she's just generally flaky. Isn't it implied that she's often doing weird experiments in her shop, given that she'll say things like "don't mind the smoke" when you walk in?

"Hey, can you go get shot at, blown up, exposed to radiation, go into several life threatening situations to go grab something, and all that so you can help me write a book?"

I know, right? She was hilarious.
Is it sad I don't blow up Megaton just so I can have the house?
But I did blow it up for a trophy.

I did that three times if I remember correctly, in my evil play-through. Are you implying that she's...nevermind, you do have a point, but I still found the whole sequence rather silly... even more so if you told her that you're responsible for it. She basically told you to apologize to everyone in the town, and don't pull the same stunt again. Sure, she may be nothing more than goofy store owner, but I think it's kinda stupid how she easily forgiven your atrocity as if you didn't just murder most population of Megaton, but oh well... it's Bethesda who does the writing.

Now that you mention it...I kinda want to shoot her in the face again.

Fallout 3 in general is a little worrisome about how easily forgiven you are for nuking Megaton.
I like to imagine that everybody in the wasteland secretly hates Megaton but still feels like they should pretend that they aren't happy that you nuked it off the map, only they can't be asked to put any effort into the act.

Aye, and one of the example is your Dad's reaction once he learned that you nuke Megaton, and there're definitely the worst part in Fallout 3's writing. Dat Ending (even with Broken Steel), Little Lamplight, Megaton, Tenpenny Tower, Talon Company or how the Enclave suddenly become an army of emotionless robot. *shudder*
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't say Fallout 3 sucks, but Bethesda's writing for FO3 is truly horrendous if it's require the player to think something up to fill the gap or fix the bad writing.

OOC, are you a Metroid fan? In Metroid Fusion, Samus's ship's computer asks her "1. Did this Adam care for you? 2. Would he sit in a safe command room and order you to die?" If the answers are "1. No 2. Yes." The events of Other M actually make a lot more sense.
You should give the first Fallout games a shot too. My all time favourite rpg games. Fallout 2 is a masterpiece in itself.
And I'm curious, how many have played Fallout and Fallout 2 here?
I have. FO 1 and 2 were a huuuuuuge part of my younger years and pretty much why NV is my FO3. ![]()
I liked FO3's enviroments but preferred overall RPG consistency of NV. In the end, get both and mod the **** out of them.
I was able to roleplay more easily in NV, which got me far more interested in it than I ever was of FO3. Roaming the mojave with Boone or Cass, killing the Legion where we find them, and living off the land was enough to keep me entertained without even touching the story for many hours. The DLC was all very good as well, even Dead Money grew on me after 2 or 3 times playing it.

I have, but i played Fallout 3 first and then Fallout New Vegas. Wanted to go back and play the originals aswell. I did enjoy them, but i wish they had a remaster version out there. Just a graphic and UI upgrade, rest could be as is.

Though apparently the book is actually helpful if you take the riskier paths through her missions. I forget exactly what the formula is, but if you do the harder versions of at least some of those quests, the book will come out with a review saying that it's a good read for people trying to survive in the Wasteland.
I actually really like that quest. Especially as you'll hear a different review based on how you accomplish tasks, and on what you tell Moira for each one. You will also come across a random encounter of a wastelander who used the guide, to which they will give you some equipment and their thanks, or they'll scorn you (if the book was awful).
I prefer New Vegas due to it's world consistency.
I like the whole western feel as well.
I know, right? She was hilarious.
Yes.
Moira is one of Beth's gems.
She's a Fallout character all right.
