I just saw it in game and came here to ask. 
I was wondering if it's something SP-related (since we had the SP content hidden in an MP match) so I thought if they maybe did something similar.

You could do that but SP players could care less about MP knick knacks. BW are trying to get people into MP which is fair enough but some people are simply not interested.In that case, I'm making a super salty thread and waiting for SP players to come help me with my single player struggles
Gating unique MP gear behind SP isn"t right either though if that's what it is. And gating it behind dull fetch quests would face palm worthy.

One can dream...
