Lol yeah both Cory and Eredin were wasted potential. Neither one got enough proper screentime to really develop beyond "I'm the bad guy!". That said W3 left me very excited for the future of the franchise and has much more variability in it's endings than DA:I. Overall despite it's flaws I was never bored playing the Witcher 3 like I oftentimes was playing DA:I.

I just hope Ciri does end up being the next protagonist. Character creation doesn't really fit the Witcher.

Well, if they went that route then you'd have to ignore that variable ending (Though i don't think the major variations are really that much more numerous than DAI)

I like the idea of character creation in the Witcher universe (It would have to be more like Hawke, with a set background, but still).  I like the idea of creating my own witcher, from one of the other schools, establishing my reputation instead of being a celebrity from the word go.

Well there are no variable endings to DA:I? i Always liked the fact that there is alternet endings depending on the choices you make, not only with characters, but also choices you make with ciri alters the ending.

Personally i dont like that idee, it doesent suit the game, wouldent be the same game anymore, what i would like to se is ciri as a new protagonist for future witcher games, it kinda fealt like this to be the ending of Geralts story in some way

Yeah no. Both where bad but Cory was better then Eredin because Cory was never reduced to a joke, nor had his past or motives changed or hidden to whitewash another character(Avalac'h) Cory also didn't have 12 lines and five minutes of screen time.

He was reduced to a joke... repeatedly. Even his death was more humiliating than Eredin's death. That broken jaw face of his will forever mark him as the biggest joke of a villain in the franchise.

Eredin's death was humiliating too but at least he died fighting like a true warrior.

Corypheus's lines were far more corny as he repeatedly reminds us of how he thinks of himself as a god. Eredin's lines have the benefit of him sounding so demonic.

Furthermore, Corypheus's motives were changed too so he's not so different from TW3's Eredin in that department. In DA2's Legacy, he was implied to be a more complex and tragic individual but like with Eredin, reduced to a straight-up villain.

Yet, at least Eredin has the benefit of being scarier and with a more memorable character design. I would prefer the villain that looks like Sauron over the one skinny one that wears a dress.

You were expecting creatures called crones to be "some smoking hot woman"?

Flemeth is supposed to be an ancient witch and the DA team redesigned her giving her cleavage and a young figure. In an interview, one of the graphic designers referred to this character as a "hot babe". So I wouldn't put anything past game designers.

well Flemeth can jump from bodey to bodey, as she did with solas in the final scene, so that kinda makes sence

In all honesty I hope Bioware and CDPR take a year to get us anything new because i'm bored/burned out on both. Fallout 4 cannot come soon enough.

Well no, DAI always ends with killing Cory and returning o Skyhold, but epilogue variation is equivalent.

This is definitely the end of Geralt's story, Ciri's too. If there is a new game, it definitely won't be the same game no matter what they do. I don't want Ciri to return because I like where I left off with her, becoming the Empress of Nilfgaard. Generally I think character creation can be made to work in any setting.

no there wont be any more witcher games, CDPR already said that this will be the last (including the upcoming expansions) starting a new Project called Cyberpunk 2077. Personally i would have liked to seen more of ciri, here skills and the fighting style was so fluid and amazing. I dont whant to see another game staring geralt atleast, that story is done and would just be boring

Actually, they never said that there won't be anymore games from the Witcher universe, only that Geralt's saga is at an end. And if there will be more, it definitely won't be soon (at least not until after Cyberpunk) ;)

Besides, I am not exactly a fan of Ciri being the next protagonist. Seriously, she has 3 possible endings and with the WF gone she has nothing to fight and is ridiculously OP and basically a walking Deus ex machina. How do they want to have a game about her without greatly revamping or gimping her powers or again going down the "amnesia" route?

your right, i correct myself, the Geralt saga is over, and there will be no more witcher game untill they finnished cyberpunk, and ofc they would have to revamp her, its how you use her skills in fights that made her interresting.

They have Always hade multiple endings in the witcher games, atleast witcher 2 hade multiple endings, dont recall the first one tho.

But personally i think a new witcher game at all would be to much, i feal that the endings are satisfying

I don't see Ciri as the next protagonist. I don't think they have any idea how to possibly make another game in the setting as of yet (they're saying there may be another, to not burn any bridges at this point).

To be honest, I'm confident that if Cyberpunk will be a success, they will make it into a franchise, and then possibly work on another IP. If we visit the Witcherverse again, I don't think it will be on this console generation.

Although I'm expecting to see a cameo/easter egg from Ciri in Cyberpunk - when Geralt finds her in game, she has a line of dialogue, where she basically says that she spend like half a year in some futuristic world (based on her description) ;).
