Well, first of all, I only got 3 hours for some reason, but that's another story.

So here's my suggestion: if you're going to offer a timed trial instead of a more traditional demo that merely cuts you off once you've hit some sort of in-game milestone, then the character creation screen shouldn't count against your time.

I actually never even got to play the game at all! I realize it's my own fault for leaving the game on character creation while I went and did stuff with my family, but in truth, at least a good hour of that time I spent actively creating characters.

Character is everything in BioWare games, and from what I've read, I'm not nearly the only one who tried and failed to make a character that he liked on the first try. I'm not going to invest six hours of my life into a game with a character I'm going to hate. I can easily spend an hour or two just trying to get the character right. That's important to me, and it affects my entire relationship with a game.

So I don't really feel like time spent in character creation should count against your trial time. Just for future reference. I wanted to try the game.

You did say that you left the game running while doing other stuff, I really don't see how that's the trial's fault :/. The counter just starts once you click on new game.

You can still play MP for as long as you want at least.

Even so, a timed trial seems cheap. The prologue seems tailor made for a game demo - only lasts about 45 minutes tops, and introduces you to a bunch of your party.

If you know it's a timed trial and you spend that time fiddling around in the CC, I don't see how that's anyone's fault but your own.

It is a FREE trial and more importantly you got DAMP for FREE, so I don't see why you are complaining about FREE stuff. What's with people these days feeling like they are entitled to everything?

That really sucks that character creation counted. I agree that it should have been a demo that ended after the prologue instead.

At least it were 6 hours, one of the Batman Arkham Demos only lets you play 10 minutes. And it took (at least for me) those 10mins to get used to the controls.

I think character creator shouldn't count toward that goal. But I also wouldn't complain myself about it if they had less time either.. Some people easily blow through half a day creating a character. The goal is to get the player acclimated with the world after all and to expose them to content as well as their cc.

Reminds me of people who were gathering herbs and metals during the trial. WHY???

My problem is that my newest PC is a Core 2 Quad with 3 GB of RAM running Vista 32-bit.  And I won't be buying a new computer for a long time.  If I bought a new PC, I'd have to pay for like a $300 video card to go with it, so it adds up.  I can't meet the minimum requirements for the game on PC.  If this trial came out for PS4 (which my brother bought), I'd jump right on it.

Tbh, I just want to play with the character creator and see how my Keep choices affect dialog.

I can't say that I've spent 3 hours creating one character, though.

6 hours is plenty for this game. You can beat the main story in the game in 6 hours. All you will really miss out on is 120 hours of picking flowers.

you seem the entitled one, more so than OP.

DAMP sux, I wouldn't play it even if they paid me.

a demo from ancient days would be more useful than timed trial: there's no need for cc - you get the funcionality, a taste of storyline, and a glimpse on gameplay (priceless, imho). timed trial is another "redefinition" bit to fit marketing more than customer's needs.

what's with people these days? nobody seems to have a backbone or/and mind of his/her own.

You can? Is that a speedrun or normal?

You either did not understand my post or don't know the meaning of the word 'entitled'... Either way, not my problem but yours.

Normal, I guess. The main story is extremely short.

I got about 3 hours of it too. The timer ran fast. Time ran out, but Origin only timed me in game for 4 hours, and like a half hour of that was fiddling with graphics settings and running benchmarks. Anyway, my main issue is that once it ran out I decided to buy the full game, and clicked "unlock full game" in the trial, and it made me download the full 24 gigabytes again instead of just patching the 23 gigabyte trial. Thats not cool.
