When the BioWare audio team records sound for the different Mass Effect weapons, only the real thing will do. We took an M8 Avenger out into the field to grab some audio, and here are the results. Sorry, Cody.

The tank artillery shot sounds an awful lot like the accelerator cannon from ME1's Mako. Did they reconsider giving the new Mako artillery?

M-8 Avenger models only showed up in ME2 and beyond. Speculate away!

They were also frequently the default weapon used for cutscenes, even when characters weren't carrying them. Let's try to stay away from that ish, Montreal!
