I still can't play fullscreen. Is this ever going to be fixed? Windowed fullscreen is not a fix.

Is this a multiplayer problem? If not, then no.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but I've beaten the game twice on a laptop with Nvidia, never had any fullscreen issues (other than windowed borerless fullscreen being slower than actual fullscreen).

Not a multiplayer issue. I've beaten it once, and was forced to use windowed fullscreen, still the same problem.

https://forums.gefor...ay-fullscreen/

apparently the only fix right now is windows 10. Nvidia and EA said they were aware of the problem but haven't fixed it yet.

If you try and select to play in fullscreen, it just goes to windowed mode. (for me and others anyway. Seems to be on 860M and upwards cards but idk)

I have an Nividia mobile, but I seemed to have solved it by clicking the exact opposite option (windowed, instead of fullscreen). And it doesn't look like "windowed fullscreen". It just looks fullscreen.

That said, I don't play the PC version much...so never stress tested it or anything.

That's strange. Doesn't work for me though, just goes to windowed mode. Thank you though.

Would be good to know what models NRieh and StreetMagic got aswell. I was going to say that maybe it could be related to Optimus, but you don't have Optimus right? only a 860M? Yea, I don't know... I see this has been under investigation for quite some time now over at Nvidia.

I do have optimus, so it very well could be that. I launched the game running off my intel GPU and I could play fullscreen (although that GPU is in no way strong enough to run DA:I) so it's a Nvidia issue it looks like.

Interesting. If we can get some confirmation that this doesn't happen on non-Optimus Laptops then we are maybe getting somewhere. What does the 3D settings for the Nvidia GPU look like? (Nvidia Controlpanel / manage 3D settings / Global settings) Or if you have a profile for Inquisition I would like that instead.

My DA:I profile used the Global settings which are at default right now (I reformatted a couple weeks ago), I've messed around in there before and nothing changes. I even tried to force fullscreen from the geforce experience settings and it's still windowed.

It's a Lenovo

I've got Lenovo Y500 (2x650M SLI, i5, 6gb RAM).

I've never had a single issue with the fullscreen. I'm pretty sure that it was not a 'windowed-borderless', because I've tried both during my PT, looking for ways to squeeze some extra FPS. Unlike some other games going 'windowed' only made things slower for me.

I also used the borderless-windowed mode with an overlay grid tool (to measure the CC grid for coordinates).

Rest of the time (which is 2 full PTs ~70&90 hours each + some MP) I've used the normal fullscreen mode.

Default preset settings, no overclocking or profile tweaking, the most recent WHQL drivers, win 8 64 (not 8.1).

Could also be important - I don't use 'experience' tool (or whatever that auto-config thing is called), I prefer to pick my game settings manually.

Just called Nvidia's driver team and it's a Windows 8.1 OS bug on certain mobile hardware and should be fixed on Windows 10. They couldn't say if it will be back-ported  for Windows 8.1 though. In any case Windows 10 is out July 29th for free for all valid Windows 7 and 8.1 users so your best bet is to wait just a couple of more days until the OS is out. It will be updated through Windows Update.

I tried to look around for other options in the mean while, but it's hard. Some users got it resolved by opening the OptionProfile_profile in notepad and change the fullscreenMode and Screen to certain values, but that's only a bandage and doesn't really work. Others say it's fixed on Lenovo's own drivers (a bit older driver). And lastly some users are reporting that if they change the screen border in the Nvidia controlpanel to something else and change it back to fullscreen it works, but I don't think this is an option for Laptops though. Sorry I couldn't be of much help here.

Thanks for calling them, I'll be upgrading on 29th hopefully anyway so that's good news. You've been a great help.

If it's a 8.1-specific issue, could rolling back to original win 8 help? I've never upgraded mine, and (as I've mentioned above) the fullscreen worked  fine for me.

Also, I'm not so sure that early win 10 is a good thing. I'd expect all sorts of bugs and compatibility surprises. It would take time to polish all the software&drivers and patch all the games (in case those are still supported, I assume DAI is, and I don't expect it to be thoroughly tested for win 10).

Technically yes, this should only be on Windows 8.1. But I wouldn't worry about getting 10 early. There will most certainly be bugs and compatibility surprises with drivers on release (less so on Windows 8.1 system drivers upgrading to 10), but Windows 10 is now a service and will receive expeditious updates when they are ready, instead of an update pack every month like we've seen on earlier Windows. I recommend that you wait till Windows 10 is out next week, and if something bad happens that's hard or impossible to work around when upgrading then you could go back to 8.0. But hey, it's your call :)

I m new for DAI and just install the game last night. First time I m run the game and facing your same problem...the game running without fullscreen even the display menu show "fullscreen" was setup.

I simply change display menu from "fullscreen" to "windowed fullscreen" and it was fixed with my little surprise. My DAI now running with a real fullscreen.

You may try and hope this can help.

My laptop spec is i7 4720 / 12GB ram / GTX950M and Win 8.1

Thank you, but this doesn't work for me. Windowed Fullscreen is just windowed fullscreen.
