i heard this story on the news for the first time about a species that JUST joined the galactic community 1 year ago... this would have happened before the end of ME2 (because that was 6 months ago at the beginning of ME3)...

 

i saw someone else spell the species name as Raloi

 

but to me it sounded like "Rallor"... ? or Rhalor?

 

does anyone have any info on this species?

i love finding lil bits of stuff like this in the game...

 

and BTW, if it wasn't for my awesome headphones, i wouldn't be able to hear all these wonderful sounds i NEVER heard before in ME3.... you really need some headphones to truly experience the game aurally!!!!

There was some news about them released on the Cerberus Network back when that was still active. They are apparently a bird like species and have never existed anywhere outside that one snippet from the Cerberus Network. And I heard Raloi, not Rallor.

The wiki has a little bit. They just joined after they saw an asari cruiser with their first spaceobservatory. When the Reapers came, turned around and destroyed all spacecraft and stuff like that to pretend that they are a prespaceflight community which they are more or less. Would be like humanity joining after we shot Hubble into orbit.

 

Funny if the Reapers had shown up a 100 years earlier, humanity would have expanded into an empty galaxy.

Harvesters are made from those long-necked flying creatures you see dropping off Klixen, both in Grunt's loyalty mission and on that one Blood Pack planet where you face a variety of Klixen, Vorcha and one Krogan battlemaster. James refers to them as "worm-necks."

Yeah I used to wonder if the Reapers swept in for the harvest, easy kill, or were they going to save them as a snack till last.

 

And what would their rep be after the war. I mean like, would they become the running joke about turning tail and running/hiding. or burying their heads in the sand.

They also had to wear envirosuits because they're avian and get bird flu from aliens or something. Likely one of those species we will never see in universe (much like the Virtual Aliens), cosidering the MW galaxy is now history and the Raloi hunkered down on their homeworld rather than joining the fight, so likely wouldn't have been included in the Andromeda project.

I remember a panel in one of the comics where you saw the silhouette of a Raloi and it had 4 arms.
