3000 per cast sounds like it's a lot, but 3000 over 30 seconds makes it clear that it really isn't.
How do I even put that into perspective?
Well, considering that a Gold game takes about 20 minutes and that DC isn't always active and that sometimes DC is affecting health (or shields!) instead of armor or barriers, all that's essentially equivalent to getting a single extra Claymore shot per wave.
Claymore's and DC's combined DPS against primed armored targets is over 3000 (without headshots!), depending slightly on the exact build. Power Amp adds 98 to that. That's 3%.
Noticeable? Uh... I guess.
The problem is that you're comparing "DC + Claymore + Adrenaline" to "DC + no shooting + Power Amp". You never specifically said so, but nowhere in your comparison did you factor in the damage of whatever non-Claymore gun the Power Amp player is using. Of course the numbers are going to favour the Claymore by a ridiculous margin in that case.

I'm comparing Claymore Huntress with Adrenaline to Claymore Huntress with Power Amp. The first gets to shoot and use powers more often because of better (and safer) movement, the latter deals slightly more power damage.
My argument is that the added power damage is quite insignificant portion of the total damage output.
And I repeat (again): at no point have I said that Power Amp is a bad choice for her. It just doesn't make much difference.
The CSMG is great on her, I use it all the time with her on platinum with very good results.

Just need to fire the power immediately followed by a claymore shot to break cloak. You know you got the rhythm down when the only cool down is from breaking cloak.

Javelin+Warp Ammo, oh yes.
I'll keep that rhythmic discipline with DC, but not so much when I'm looking for a detonation.
I personally like the Huntress w Krysae and Incid ammo....double splosions + I make her look just like her character picture
CSMG is indeed a good weapon on her - not as good as powerful shotguns, but still very good. Power Mag is still a waste of a mod slot, both HCB and HVB would increase the overall damage output more.
I've witnessed that as well. Saw a Huntress score 200k+ in a gold game on Jade vs bugs recently. Had an extended clip and power mag on it. Can't remember if it was drill or wrape ammo, but I was impressed regardless.

Just tried the Claymore build. I like it a lot, but had to get used to the timing (I'd previously been using the Eagle). The only negative (if there is one) is that I don't get as many BEs because the Claymore kills mooks before the cooldown ends.

Well, you can also see it as +100 damage per second VS armor (+130 VS barriers), thus as an increase in how fast DC kills and spreads. I find that equiping a power amp 4 on the Huntress has a noticeable impact on Dark Channel.
However, I run my Huntress with the Suppressor (she's the only character I can stand the low ammo capacity of this gun with), so I can't tell wheter an adrenaline module is preferable for a Claymore Huntress.

From a min/max perspective, I don't doubt that it is, since its the same old guns>>>>>>powers, and even a marginal buff to ones weapon damage output is usually going to win out. But this is definitely a case where I'm more interested in a particular playstyle (her unique ability to achieve incredible armor/barrier damage with a single cast and no further attention required) than simply shooting everything as quickly as possible, so it really doesn't matter.
I always put a widow on her (w/ phasic). Nothing like an asari playing with a big long gun.
