While it is a ways away I am curious if anyone else has already planned out there canon next class for DA4 and what normally determines which class you want your main to roll with? I have done warrior S&S for Origins, Mage for 2, and DW Rogue for Inquisition. I am unsure what to do for 4 since I touched all the classes, so Ima try all the weapons do you guys think I should do two handed warrior or archery rogue?
Next Class for DA4?

That depends. If we still get race selection with all four races that were in Inquisition, I think my first DA4 protagonist will probably be a qunari mage. (I try to make sure I don't have the same class/race combination saving Thedas all the time. My 'canon' Warden was a human rogue archer, Hawke was a two-handed warrior, and the Inquisitor was a dual-wielding dwarf rogue, so it's really time for a mage in that world state.) It's always possible we'll have another human-only protagonist for DA4, and in that case I'll likely go with human mage. That's what I was going to do before they put race selection back into DAI.
However, if we actually get a romanceable dwarf in DA4 (hey, I've been waiting fifteen years, it has to happen some day) then I'll probably pick dwarf warrior and leave the mage for the entirely hypothetical DA5.

It is a little too soon making plans for your DA4 class don't you think.
Still, it would be nice if they make something new, hack and slash chain sounds pretty good.

My Thedas is usually filled with heroes/protagonists that are rogue archers. Before Hawke, it would had been dwarf rogue archers, being that Brosca and Cadash are both archers. I hope that they bring back races for the next game, but I'll live if they decided to go human-only again. One thing that needs to make a return in the next game is the Artificer specialization.

Too early to decide. Who knows what's gonna be added or more likely - removed. Was planning on rolling a dual-wielding warrior for Inquisition, but that's no longer a thing. Mage is also nothing like it was in Origins or DA2, and you'd think mage would be a safe bet - but alas.
If Inquisition is anything to go off on, I'll probably roll a rogue or shield-and-sword Templar; for me, those two were the only fun and interesting ones and didn't get stale by the end.
I'd really like to see open-classes make a return. Alternatively, a battle-mage with interesting melee skills and interesting spells would be sweet.

My canon protagonists are always Mages :3 plan to keep that tradition alive so long as we have the option.

hmm, I have a fondness for elves and mages- so I'll most likely make an elven mage but it really depends on the setting- If we're set in Tevinter for example, I may make a human mage cause playing a Magister sounds kinda neat. (but if they had the option for elven mage I'd pick it)
tbh I'll be a mage regardless of what race I may play- my Lady Cousland would have been an Amell Mage if it wasn't for the fact that she couldn't be queen if she had magic. (It's a shame cause I made my Hawke and Inquisitor a mage)
The pattern of having only female mages become famous and powerful in thedas would have been kinda neat...

I mostly only play female mages in dragon age, which is very different from every other rpg where I have a class choice and generally only play rogues.. As long as I can play a female mage in DA4, like I did in DAo, DA2 and DAI, then I'm happy with my character.

My first playthrough for each DA game always used to be male Rogue, but half way through DA:I I got slightly bored and started over as a Mage. I'll probably stick with Mage from now on.

I would like to see them try a dual-wielding warrior again, with the specialization being called Destroyer!!

If DA4 would take place Tevinter my 1st character will be an angry city elf (Warrior) with a Big sword, named "despair of the magisters"

My canon Warden is my S&S Aeducan and my canon Hawke is my 2-hander named Mike. Still have yet to decide on a canon Inquisitor, but I want it to be a rogue Lavellan. Might go mage, but most likely will end up being a rogue.
No idea what I'll go for as my canon protag in DA4, but it'll either be another rogue (opposite fighting style of my canon rogue, so archer if dual-wield and dual-wield if archer), or a mage.
If DA4 would take place Tevinter my 1st character will be an angry city elf (Warrior) with a Big sword, named "despair of the magisters"
Ha! My favorite Warden is my human-hating Tabris who's a 2-hander Reaver/Berserker/Spirit Warrior.
He's basically an angrier version of Fenris minus the lyrium tattoos. ![]()

I always choose to play as a mage, and plan to continue choosing that. The only playthrough where I'm not a mage is the I started as a warrior in order to become queen.
I kind of feel bad about repeating the class, but I can't help it. My characters have been male, female, straight, gay, etc, but always mages. When I want to try other classes I just... take control of my companions. Which I do a lot, because I'm into micromanaging.

Assuming we don't get a 4th class, which we should for the 4th game, then I think I might have to go with another mage, especially if this takes place in Tevinter.
In Origins I had male human noble dual weapon warrior. In 2 I use the preset rogue female archer. For Inquisition I have a male human noble mage.
I just can't shake the feeling that all four protagonists will team up some day. So aside from having them form a balanced team, I would also have to think of their combat strategies. On the one hand, I wouldn't want the others to get in my warrior's way, since he also knows 2H, which can cause friendly fire damage in Inquisition. On the other hand, he was an off-tank and DPS'er in Origins, so having a tank along side him shouldn't be a problem. But having him play the DPS tank while the other three hang back and used ranged, debuffs, and buffs, seems to be the best strategy. And I think the best party combos usually have two mages in them. Plus, my warrior was high in Dex, which means he was accurate with a bow and arrow too. So having a mage as the 4th would mean the entire party could be an all ranged party too.
It will ultimately come down to what class seems to fit the backstory best, and what class is more interesting. Or if they create a new class for the 4th game, I might just go with that by default.

Multiclass options definitely need to make a comeback. As much fun as combat in DA:I was, my life has recently been consumed by Kingdoms of Amalur, and the reason why I barely have time to sleep anymore can be summed up in one word:
Battlemage
Heavy armor, two-handed greatsword and enough magical power to bring down the primal fury of the elements themselves. A fantasy RPG has not brought me this much sheer, unbridled joy murdering things since The Elder Scrolls any my rogue/sniper archer/mage. Yes the class system in DA:I is all right, and yes, I enjoyed myself all the way through, but something has to be said about the pure, joyful insanity that is multiclassing.

Well, all of my first 4 games in DA4 will be canonical, so in answer to your question: all 3 classes will be, but one of them will be canonical twice. As for the order, I'll most likely be going: first warrior, then mage, then rogue, as it has been in every game thus far. I don't know which one I'll repeat in the 4th playthrough, since Origins had me repeat warrior, 2 had me repeat rogue, and Inquisition has/will have me repeat mage.

Please bring back armor/gear sets! I would love to be able to switch from dual wielding rogue to an archer mid fight like we could in Origins. If they can bring back the ability for all classes to use any weapon as long as they meet the stats that would be awesome as well.

I typically start off with a female mage and did so with DAI, but I'm having so much fun with my guy SnS warrior that I might just change that up for the next game. We'll see!

Going to play as a Human Male Mage, hopefully Arcane Warrior, and it will be my first canon Mage.
Origins - Human Male Warrior, Two Handed
2 - Male Rogue, Bow
Inquisition - Same as Origins
