So I'm 9 episodes into Gargoyles.
Pretty pathetic but it's too hot to be in my room during the day, even with fans on you're likely to sweat.
Anyway
It's what I expected it to be and I'm impressed.
Why didn't they show this on mornings in Disney Channel?
I'm glad Xanatos is back in the scene and I look forward to his future schemes.
So far, however, my favourite has to be Elisa.
11/10 top tier waifu material.

Last major cartoon I watched is the Dark Knight Returns adaptation. I'd recommend it to anyone. It's one of the best Batman films I've seen. Pretty close to the comic.

I was actually contemplating on watching Young Justice, since Bruce Timm was heavily involved in its production and aesthetic -- It's supposedly a very mature realized renidition of young superheroes which might be good.
The latest cartoons, aside from rewatching Futurama, I've watched would have to be DCAnimated films based around Batman. Some good and fun, some very less so.. especially the ones featuring Damian Wayne who I want to suffocate to death in a dishwasher.

What a hero.

Howcome the Sorceress and Teela were so hot in He Man?
And to think Adam never copped any of that but would have rather had Man At Arms ![]()

I definitely dig some of their episodes. One neat piece of info about that series, the 3 crystal gems personalities were based off specific types of relationships like Co-Dependence and Independence. They're very adept at tapping into the feels.Great cartoon [(Stephen Universe)
Ms. Gloom mentioned that one to me years ago, never got the chance to see it. I'll put it on the list.I was actually contemplating on watching Young Justice, since Bruce Timm was heavily involved in its production and aesthetic -- It's supposedly a very mature realized renidition of young superheroes which might be good.
Been steamrolling over the weekend on some animated films. Saw Aristocats, I was very happy with how it turned out. A neat adventure that comes with some great musical numbers written by the Sherman Brothers. I liked the old-school Disney look, it's been a while.
Also finished an exemplary rewatch of Persepolis, it's been a long enough time that it felt like a new watch. It stars Marjane Satrapi, a Heart-Of-Gold Blondie fueled by a desire to dance. Without her ability to sate the lizard people's demands, she goes on a grand adventure in the heart of Quetzcoatl-World-Land.
Persepolis is still very different from what most will be used to. Marjane, at least at the beginning, is an energetic excitable kid growing up in a setting and social/political climate that barely, if ever gets tasteful coverage in media. As Marjane herself put it in the Behind-The-Scenes videos, "She wasn't interested in politics, but politics were interested in her". The Art style borders on Noir/Expressionist during the flashback scenes and mostly takes place in Black & White. It still remains a compelling movie today; If you're looking for something outside the norm of animated works, this is a really good way to go. Still free on YouTube to boot, so.

Also saw some CGI films. Turbo is about a snail who's infused with super speed, and stumbles upon a taco salesman who also is strongly involved in racing snails. Yep, people race snails in their free time. A little too predictable and the humor isn't very humorous, though I did get a laugh from one about halfway through. Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs. Visuals are pretty damned good when it comes to food, but the story isn't anything you wouldn't expect. The sequel was a great deal better since they focused more on creative creature designs, weird visual gags, and basically being Jurassic Park, but with food.

I'll take a look for that next time at the rental store. Last batman animated film I saw was Gotham Knight, which essentially pulled an Animatrix: many segments of various art styles and stories in one compilation. Enjoyed it artistically, but I hardly remember most of the stories. One of my favourite comic books and movie ever. Best scene in my eyes
A couple pages back, someone posed the question of whether Cartoons were better then or better now. Nostalgia Critic released a video with some good points; Definitely worth the watch.
Been rewatching AtlA too, up to The Storm. Reminded me why I'm a Zuko fan.

I like the Animatrix actually (probably the only thing worth it, after the first movie), but I wouldn't compare this to that. DKR movie is very much like the comic. Thankfully, I hadn't read the comic in years, so it was kinda fresh to me. But they recreated much of the artstyle and dialogue. It's one Frank Miller's brilliant moments --- and I'm not really one to praise him. He hasn't always done good things.

Good points, but he seems to have missed that Young Justice recently got dumped for Teen Titans GO. I guess that didn't fit his narrative.

Unfortunately, I've seen Teen Titans Go before - it's an abyss from which no light can escape; They lobotomized the original, which was sad to see. As with everything else in media, what sells well and what's worth checking out don't always fit. Much dissapoint :/
I think at the very least, he has a point that developers have a few more advantages in our day and age compared to back then.
Ah, a bit more directed towards the source material. Animatrix was the closest I could think of. Good to know >.>I like the Animatrix actually (probably the only thing worth it, after the first movie), but I wouldn't compare this to that. DKR movie is very much like the comic.

Not enough Owen love tbh
Spoiler
I hope Xanatos appreciates his hard work.
It would be the cruellest of things if he were to lash out at him.
Worse than Gon tbh.

Soooo finished S1 of Gargoyles.
Pretty pathetic given the pace I go through shows.
But hey! I'm rewatch LOTGH, JJBA and all these other things at the same time!
Still, it ended on a pretty high note though I'm a little uhh... iffy about Xanatos' motives?
So he gets these Gargoyles and obviously wants to make use of them but then when that goes to hell he tries to waste them.
However that goes to hell too so he changes his plans and wants to keep them alive...whilst still trying to kill them? Though if I'm to take things are face value he's obviously not trying very hard and probably doing it on purpose as to... gather information?
The incident with the item he donated was clever but the one with Elisa's brother was sort of weird. He risked his own life in that operation and I suppose he wants her brother for collateral as well as having a good pilot.
Which is still clever.
Demona acts alone sometimes so yeah, whatever. I'm fine with her having the biggest grudge in the series. Goliath just dismissed any opinion she had.
"But da humans!"
"lolnobitch get back to the Rookery."
I'm really pleased how Goliath has matured through out these few episodes and I hope he continues to do so since he's still a very flawed individual who's obstinate but he's shown that he can be swayed through discourse.
He's a great character.
The other Gargoyles interest me less but they're still enjoyable apart from Hudson who's my favourite of the Gargoyle crew.
However one thing I will never ever tolerate.
And I hate it.
And I might drop the show for it.
