Hello,

so, I hope anyone of bioware reads this. I played the whole ME series and the whole DA series, DA:O is the best computer game in the world for me. So here's my feedback:

(I played the SP once with a female Dalish Elf, never tried MP up to now,)

Pro
- Good Story, nicely wrought in the things happened up to now
- Good old, epic, bioware feeling in some scenes, like the song of mother giselle when forced from haven to skyhold.
- I loved the ball in Orlais, very good scene, fresh and new (while many other sceneries were seen before)
- Involvment of Hawke
- Good Cutscene Dialogues, including Romance (with Cullen). I love that you can rotate the camera throughout the dialogue! Very well done!
- Really good Voice Actors. Thanks for that, expecially to the lady who spoke „my Inquisitor“  the Dalish Elf
- Decisions affecting the world
- Feeling of a great, world spanning campaign through the war table.
- The world looks great, beautiful settings!
- The look of the characters is less "comic-like" than in DAII. THANK YOU for that.
- Improved Dialogue system. It feels less like Q&A and more like Dialogue again. Thanks for listening in that!
- Option to play Dwarves, Elves and Qunari

Con
- I needed a long time to get the game running due to a graphic bug. Can only play in windowed mode. Please, beta-test more thoroughly!!! This was unacceptable for a 50,00 € game.
- Not a fan of Open World – It distracts from the main storyline and destroys atmosphere
- Side quests could've been better. Quality trumps quantity!, DA:O was far better in this
- Collecting Crafting Materials takes too much time and distracts from the main story. Why does the famous inquisitor need to collect elfroot by himself?!? It thins out the game, taking atmosphere.
- Auto Lvl.-Up for Character Stats. Please, give us room to individualize our chars as much as possible! It is important, even part of character building. Don't take too much out of the players hands.
- I missed a „select all“ button in combat situations to retreat. Perhaps there is one? Didn't find it in the options "key bindings" menu though.
- Look of the hair. Can you hire a specialist for that?
- No auto-import of storylines of DA:O and DA:II

Neutral

- Crafting system – It seems a bit too big, but offers room for a lot of experimenting. Would've liked more varitey in Bonuses of different materials, but it looks promising. I will experiment with it in my 2nd playthrough.
- Horses/Riding are useless, but I didn't miss them anyway
- Companions. They are interesting enough, but not outstanding. Is hard after two other games to be creative here, I guess, so it's okay (Haven't experienced all of them enough though)
- I didn't really see what „Influence“ gains me in the end. Ended with about „12“ or some such. What was it good for, I wonder?
- Game is a bit too long (~ 55 hours) for my taste. Make it like 40 or smth.

Conclusion: 7/10
Main thing why I am content is the main story, it's told in a great, bioware way. The dialogue system is much improved over DAII, I'm content with it. I wish you'd focus on roleplaying even more the next game, instead of following imho useless „open-world“ concepts.
Thedas is perfect for a hardcore roleplaying game.

Thanks for the experience, it was a good game.

One thing though: If I need half a month to get the game running after I bought it, it is not acceptable. Please, beta test more thoroughly last month, it almost made me think I'd never buy a bioware game again.

Influence unlocks perks at the war table. Perks allow you to use new Focus abilities, gives you new dialogue options, get discounts from merchants, etc.

I'd give it a 7/10 too.

Thanks for the explanation @thats1evildude

On a sidenote another (half-serious) point coming to mind:

I was deeply puzzled when I learned that Hawke new Cory. I never bought the DLC, so it was very strange to hear.

Since the DLC for DAII now is not "optional additional content" anymore but "part of the main story", I suggest you give the DLC to me for free, so that I bought a complete, understandable game in DA:I?

Later story content in DLC is fair game, I think. Consider it similarly to an expansion. Were you annoyed at references to DAA?

You missed out on arguably the best part of DA2, incidentally. Legacy was tops, and one of the best add ons for any game.

Well yes, it is acceptable for DA:I. It just kind of alienates me from "my" Hawke in DA2, for he just didn't do this.

Perhaps it would've been possible to "opt out" of it, like that Varric just brought Hawke because of his experience with Red Lyrium or something? Might have been complicated though.

I didn't play DAA as well, just the basic games where enough for me. But no, it didn't bother me there. My Hero of Ferelden died along with the Archdemon, so everything happening in DAA didn't affect her and was new for Hawke.
