International legal and export issues make giving away stuff for contests internationally impossibly messy . Sucks really.

 

I made a few submissions. Mostly involving drinking and fart jokes. At the very least someone's going to get a chuckle out of it. Mostly me.

I have several rough ideas lined up that I'll be fleshing out the lore backstories on this afternoon so I can pop 'em off to BioWare before bed.

 

I'm hoping some of the gameplay mechanics I mashed together are interesting and fun - admittedly, a lot of my ideas came from the lore I could create to justify their existence, but I think some of the stat and passive combos are intriguing. That, or I just created math hell Eldritch Abominations for the sake of backstory, which would be completely in character for the strengths and weaknesses of how my mind works.

Oh, they are actually adding new item affixes. Nifty. Makes the contest a little silly IMO since they already coded the powers make it into the game, but w/e.

So, what you're saying is that all I need to do is craft an award-winning idea that also contains 10% HoK and I'll finally get an equivalent to that Superb Ring of Life-Drain that continues to elude me?

 

But in all seriousness, I was actually really stoked to see this contest. I can't draw, paint, or craft cosplay stuff, so finally seeing a contest that was nothing but "use your imagination - within these parameters - and make words" made me very happy.

 

As it is, I'm finishing up the backstories right now and will be submitting before the day's done: 10 items in total plus 1 joke item that I certainly hope some of the MP team reads because it will probably make y'all laugh. 4 amulets, 3 rings, and 4 belts in total. Am actually really happy with several of them, so here's hoping there's a winner in that bunch. And, honestly, even if there isn't, I still hope some of my ideas might get used since there's a few pretty fun mixes in there. Most of the items I made, I crafted with both SP and MP in mind, save for any that add grenades/potions/tonics, obviously.

 

Also, I'm a big believer that THIS should just be a passive on everything going forward: On Hit: Chance that Elemental Mines spawn around your target.

 

But that's probably just my inner Luka talking.

I asked the BioWare Twitter that same question (as did a friend of mine) and never received an answer. So, my guess is that it might not matter either way?

 

Personally, I'm going to send my entries one at a time, just to try and be safe about it.

I also think this is probably one of the greatest stat descriptions I've ever seen: Enhanced Basic Attacks: You now whirlwind. Like, all the time. That is all.

 

I also found a way to use that.

If that "Enter Stealth when not attacking" passive is as good as it sounds, then it should make the grind to getting "I Was Never Here" a lot easier at lower levels for both the Assassin and Alchemist.

So.... could mines spawn from getting hit by mines? That's some pretty big inception we have here.

Gosh, imagine power cord spawning 'em skittles, or caltrops!

IMAGINE skittles from TOXIC CLOUD, yeah, Toxic Could! Not only would you be farting, you'd also be popping some poop...... Just amazing  (gotta hope it doesn't smell though)
