The most annoying woman ever introduced by BioWare in Andromeda? Only reason she lived in 90% of the playthroughs was because she was smoking hot.

I thought she was unfairly castigated for racism, when the whole story was dedicated to proving her suspicions correct. She feels like other races aren't real big on humans, and she's a monster. Salarians develop a plague to cause millions and millions of stillbirths in a race that they used as a shield and club because the Council races couldn't carry their own fight, and it's just business.

That said, she was intensely irritating on personal interaction alone (my trigger finger kept twitching during that egregious "no means no" speech in the first game). I would like Bioware to avoid writing this kind of character again.

I'd be okay with this. I liked Ashley. She was a badass and had a good attitude towards both synthetic bastards and Council douchebags.

If they need a Spectre around and make her look more human, sure... but I would like it better if its like DAI's Here Lies the Abyss.

yeah I liked Ash too but I don't think so she's had her time along with Shep. Great companion but time to move on.

Aside from the fact that this is set in a "place and time far removed from the events of Shepard," and that we'll be unlikely to see any returning characters as squadmates, pretty much everyone but Liara and Grunt would likely be dead of at least old age by now. Wrex was an old Krogan in ME1.  Maybe Samara is hanging in there, but she was in her Matriarch phase of her life.  Also, with the exception of Leliana, BioWare usually avoids bringing characters that could be dead back in later games.

The most annoying woman ever introduced by BioWare in Andromeda?

Blasphemy!  :P

Really though, I like Ashley. It's pretty unfair that she just gets reduced to a couple of exaggerated character traits. I guess that happens with every character though. Kaidan's 'boring', Liara's 'clingy', Garrus is '100% bro' etc. I wouldn't want any returning people in ME:A, but I realise this thread isn't serious anyway.

"Most annoying woman ever introduced by Bioware" is really dependent upon if we are considering EDI a "woman". If so, it wins by an absolute landslide. If not, It's probably Bastila.

I really hope we don't see characters return. Perhaps if they were minor characters coming into a bigger role, perhaps, but even then it bugs me. We've got a whole new galaxy here, can't we just have new characters? Is that too much to ask, that Bioware writes about new characters instead of bringing back someone's favourites? I don't need to see Grunt or Liara or Ash again to connect with a character of their species. I still remember everything that happened with them in my playthroughs, I don't need those specific characters to give me some sort of interest in what's happening in the new game.

The fact that you dislike her so much is usually the sign of a, to some degree, well-written character :P the worst characters are generally regarded as the ones you just feel indifferent about, so you might want to think twice about discouraging Bioware to write 'this kind of character again' :) it would probably be far worse to have a cast of boring squadmembers because the writers wanted to play it safe and write characters that wouldn't step on anyone's toes.

I let Garrus bust a cap in that tranny

Only if her exposure to nuclear fire counts. Otherwise, her hotness was lost the moment she opened her mouth.

She's hardly the most annoying female character ever - also, this seems totally stupid and has almost zero chance of happening (I mean, I'll allow a 0.000001% chance that the devs include a holo-recording of Ashley or a VI that looks like Ashley, or do something like give some sort of update on what happened to everyone in a possible prologue...OR do something ridiculous like freezing the entire crew of the Normandy and sending them to Andromeda with you).

I highly doubt that we'll be seeing a return of any of the main cast of characters, and I kinda hope we don't see anyone return. The galaxy already felt super small in the original trilogy as we kept randomly meeting the same people in different parts of the galaxy (it made the galaxy feel like a small town). That being said, I think that Ashley was one of the best-developed characters in Mass Effect.

Anyway, this topic is clearly trolling as a means to cause heated arguments. There is nothing to suggest that Ashley will make a return.
