I'd be okay with this. I liked Ashley. She was a badass and had a good attitude towards both synthetic bastards and Council douchebags.

So, you like Quarians.

You like Ashley.

You think her opinions on the Council and the Geth was correct.

Are you a man or a woman? I need to know...

Ashley is one of my favorites. She's a mini-me tank. I have her on my squad the whole time in ME1 and after the coup in ME3

She is the best character in ME1, she never goes down lol.

Im gonna miss using her on my next two playthroughs (going for the squadmate achievements)

Ashley isn't racist, she's correct in assuming that all the Council races would save their own planets before helping others.

The thing that's annoying is that nobody calls the humans out for doing the same thing.

Her opinions on the Council WERE CORRECT. Everything she said was right. Her bear analogy came to full fruition in ME3.

Dont remember the exact words, but:

"the harsh truth commander, is that we can prepare while reapers destroy earth", and then you have to proceed to solve all their problems throughout the game before the agree to help you.

Woman, and yeah, I love my Ash-Tali-Femshep bad bitches squad.

Sacrifice the Council in ME1. They do nothing but call you out on it, and even start anti-human race riots, regardless of if your intention was really a power grab.

My canon does so out of tactical concerns about ensuring the battle against Sovereign is won, then afterword recommends Anderson for councilor in the hope of fostering cooperation. Doesn't matter, turian hunting shop guy still gets pissed at me and tells me to go away. :'(

I always preferred her over Kaidan. At least she evokes an emotional response (a very negative emotional response, but that's better than nothing)

"Most annoying woman ever introduced by Bioware" is really dependent upon if we are considering EDI a "woman". If so, it wins by an absolute landslide. If not, It's probably Bastila.

I'd go with Ash. I couldn't stand her. I didn't understand why we had to take her in the first place.

I headcanoned that I never did, and her (fatal) actions on Virmire were conducted by some unnamed redshirt.

But Anora should be in the discussion.

No one on this forum reads the Bioware blog?

While we aren’t ready to go into too many details just yet, as you saw in the trailer and can tell by the name, this game is very much a new adventure, taking place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy.

Ashley dies in all of Playthroughs, either by Nuke or Bullet.

Captain Anderson had her transferred to the Normandy's crew while it was under his command. Not really your decision.

Anora is pretty unlikeable but at least politically competent, at least in DA:O (the only one of those games I played). I had zero problems with her as long as she did her job as queen. I didn't want to toss her out of the nearest airlock anywhere nearly as much as ME3's EDI or Bastila. Just now remembering the latter exists annoys me quite a bit, in fact.

Bastila the most annoying? Yeah, probably. Even the romance with her was annoying.

I still don't like Ash and that's not because of her being "racist". It's because in ME1 she tries to sound cool and impress people but instead her dialogue makes me cringe. Still, she would have been okay if BioWare didn't feel the need to make her like poetry. Kinda heavy handed there. Does she absolutely have to have a softer side so she's more appealing to the male audience? Overall, her attitude was too... american.

I am trying to keep her alive in ME1 in my current Renegade playthrough for the first time ever. Not sure how I'll feel about it once I get to pick who dies on Virmire.

I never saw her as racist. Just skeptical, which is a trait I value.

But then that was badly undercut by her theism, and that's why I didn't like her.

She's cheesy, but this whole series is pretty cheesy. Garrus is the king of corny, ham fisted badassery yet nearly everyone seems to like him (myself included). Then again, his softer side was a bit better executed than Ashley's random Tennyson addiciton.

She's hardly the only theist on the crew, one of her conversations in ME1 just happens to cover it. Garrus refers to the spirits freqently, Wrex makes religious references (the Void). Liara's catchphrase includes a reference to a deity (by the Goddess). Nevermind when you get to ME2 and you have Thane's very in your face religiosity, yet more Goddess from Samara, along with Modin's spiritual repentance being a theme brought up in his loyalty mission.

She's the only one who made a point of defending the position.

Also, I personally say "By the gods" all the time. That doesn't mean I believe in any; it's just a turn fo phrase.

Maybe it's all the years I spent in Catholic school, but I didn't really have any problem with her theism. I'm pretty sure she recited poetry more often than she talked about that.

I don’t recall the poetry, but I made a point never to talk to her after the first time, and she died at Virmire (easiest choice ever), so I know very little about her.

Doesn't that make it hard to judge the full breadth of her dialogue then? Her dialogue consists more of issues with her family name, her family in general and some of her issues with aliens.

Heathen that I am, I feel that Ashley gets a bit of unfair judgment regarding her religious beliefs, but then I've met some real holy roller dillholes that make her fairly benign by comparison.

Oh, we do. No one (or very few at most) actually believe we'll see returning characters. People are just making dozens of '[person] in A(n)dromeda? Thoughts?' threads out of, I assume, boredom.

I'm not judging the full breadth of her dialogue. I'm judging the parts of her personality she prioritized showing to me.
