I edited my post.  Honestly, you don't think Cereberus experimented on them, took them back somewhere to husk/mutate them all?  That was their MO, after all.  Experimenting on people they capture and/or lure into a trap in order to figure out how to control the Reapers..

No, I don't think that. Why would I? It is not stated anywhere that Cerberus did that to Noveria.

No need to be sarcastic either.

I'm not trying to be mean or rude to you.  I'm trying to present the facts here.  Those being:

1) They want to set it as far away from Shep as possible, both in time and in space.

2) Any NPCs that were active during the Reaper War would have knowledge of the ending of the war.  The devs are avoiding that.

3) They are dead due to Cerberus, Reapers, or good old fashioned short lifespans.  Unless you want to get into cryo stasis, every single NPC could be dead by the time ME:A rolls around.

Those aren't facts. Bioware has yet to state that the reason for the move was to avoid the endings. That idea was spawned by the fans.

I think either the trip will be instantaneous, or stasis pods will be used.

You say that "fate is going to conspire" against you if they don't have a single NPC from the ME trilogy.   I'm trying to warn you to not allow yourself to get too upset if you don't see anyone.

Edit: There is some NPCs I would love to see in ME:A, but I am not getting my hopes up.  If the new ME game was set in the Milky Way and closer to the events of ME3, then I could see it.

Don't worry. I'm already assuming the worst of this game. I'll still be upset, but at least I won't be disappointed.

Yes!

If he makes it aboard the ship heading to Andromeda, I hope it is through something appropriately shady. He should get aboard by bribing some official or another.

I love it.

Then he should open a shadow broker like business under the radar or something.

Or, hell, maybe he should just go for something ridiculously ostentatious. Like a casino.

The most annoying woman ever introduced by BioWare in Andromeda? Only reason she lived in 90% of the playthroughs was because she was smoking hot.

Maybe to teenaged me, yeah.  I'll tell ya, hormones can make you do funny things like ignore blatant racism.  I am so glad that's over and done with.

You're a little bit gloomy sometimes.

I want the game to be a clean slate, so no Ashley. Even though I really like her.

I am so glad that's over and done with.

It is?

/sarcasm off

The one thing I think you're all searching for here is stereotypes and stereotypical behavior.  I remember hearing that the first time I was on the Citadel and just thinking, "Well, uhhh, neither can I, really."  Think of the vorcha.  Now, imagine if you will an extremely intelligent vorcha.  Like Krete (I think, he's the one who headed up the Blue Suns in ME3?).  Take your stereotypical vorcha...   Then take your extremely intelligent vorcha.

Then take Mordin Solus a stereotypical Salarian and then take the workers in Nassana Dantius' towers.

The two don't mix.  Why is okay to have stereotypes about one but not about another?

EDIT :  The answer lies somewhere in the middle.  Some of you might say, "Because that's how the galaxy works!"  And I'd agree with you, but then you must realize that that's how the world works.  We all have our prejudices.

Noooo!!!!!

Okay, now that got that out of my system... no, absolutely not. I nuked Ashley in Virmire (as I always do) and I prefer to leave her there as a pile of ash, thank you very much. I don't even want her voice actor back in ME:A.

Yeah, but not because of her views of other species.

None of Shepard's squaddies are returning as squaddies in Andromeda

BTW, thanks for using a picture of the real Ashley and not the Kim Kartrashian abomination for ME3

Ha...I never really gave that much thought, but you're right. Wrex doesn't care for Turians and in ME1 Garrus gives Tali a hard time for being Quarian.

Some of them also are more religious than Ashley.

I think people definitely are more critical of perceived flaws of human characters than they are with the alien characters. On that note...Vega is a lot more interesting a character than Grunt. I like Grunt, but let's face it...there's not much to him other than being Krogan. If he were instead human but otherwise identical people would probably be bashing him as boring.

I for one am glad Vega doesn't charge shouting "I. AM. HUMAN!"

What am I saying? That would be perfect.

Seriously?

You never gave much thought to how much Tali hated the Geth?

EDIT :  Oh, and BTW.   Vega is boring.   BO-RING.   Typical muscle head jock type.  Unless you're into that kind'a thing.

EDIT x 2 :  I guess that's what moves me, pure hatred.  Love?  Doesn't move me as far as it should.  Violence?  Doesn't move me at all.   Show me pure hatred though, that's what gets me fired up.  And that's one of the things that I fear about ME:A.   There will be nothing to hate.  No Turians, turned into geth, turned into the reapers.  *shrug*   I'm drunk right now, so please forgive my ramblings and my endless need to keep on editing this post.

I never gave much thought to the fact that people criticize Ashley being distrustful of other species while giving the nonhuman characters a pass, not that I didn't notice that Tali didn't like the Geth, or the Garrus wasn't fond of Quarians in ME1.

Vega is a musclehead, but that by itself is neither a positive or a negative trait.

He is far from being a sterotypical jock type character however. His best friend after all is an openly gay man.

Meh, his good friend.   "He's a good guy."

He doesn't say, "He's my BFF."

EDIT :  *again, sorry I'm drunk*   We must've been playing two vastly different games then.  See, the one that I played was filled with mistrust, malice, malcontent, any other m word that I can think of.  Vengeance.   Also filled with wonder.

This seems more like a description of his outward appearance than his actual persona, because he's not the typical jock type at all.

Vega doesn't have to outright say something horrible like "BFF", but his dialogue clearly indicates that he's friends with him.

Friends, yes.  Best friends.  Meh, no.

Best friends is something I've reserved that have gone through some **** with me.   Friends are just that.   Friends.   I could live or die with or without you being my friend.

EDIT :   And about the typical jock, the party scene where he shows off his muscles, okay....   Tell me that's not typical jock?

I'm not sure why this matters, especially since at this point in the story, anyone and everyone Vega's been close with is probably dead, including his squad on Fehl Prime. Good friends, best friends, whatever. Cortez is the one he hangs out with and talks to the most.
