You mean that one time he chats with Garrus, and that one time Javik stands there and trolls him a bit in the mess?

Meh indeed.

I would say that Javik trolls Vega, not the other way around.

EDIT :   Sorry, that's exactly what you said.

But yeah.  I mean, there's a fine line between, at least IMO, friends, good friends, and best friends.   And it's one that I can't put my finger on.  At least right now.

Re-read that comment. That's what I said.

Meh.   You see him talking to Garrus and Javik too.

And they BFF's?

No, but Vega hadn't previously served with either of them, nor does he have anywhere near the same rapport with them as he does with Cortez.

Ha...I never really gave that much thought, but you're right. Wrex doesn't care for Turians and in ME1 Garrus gives Tali a hard time for being Quarian.

Some of them also are more religious than Ashley.

I think people definitely are more critical of perceived flaws of human characters than they are with the alien characters. On that note...Vega is a lot more interesting a character than Grunt. I like Grunt, but let's face it...there's not much to him other than being Krogan. If he were instead human but otherwise identical people would probably be bashing him as boring.

Shepard is also strangely pro-AI. In talking to Tali your options are always some variant of "WTF Quarians, you guys tried to genocide the geth". You get a bunch of variants of " you deserved it for the whole attempted genocide bit" (though you eventually get to relent).

Of course not.  But if I had worked somewhere for two years, I'd have more in common with someone that actually worked there than some stranger.

EDIT :   Look, I'm not trying to say that Cortez is a bad guy at all.  I'm, in fact, trying to reinforce what Vega said about him, "He's a good guy"   Meaning, "Yah, I met him a couple'a times...  He's a good guy."   He's not my best friend, but he's still a good guy.

I don't understand why you're all coming down so hard on me for this.

Eh my renegade took that as you deserved it for being stupid and attacking a stronger force. Not for genocide. (That said obviously what did the Quarians expect other than self defense?)

Insomnia.

BTW,   there are jocks in this world that are gay.

Just so you know, FYI.

I mean, Cortez was no slouch himself.

Yep, made even more ridiculous by the fact that it is ME1 where the geth are simply known as a bunch of malicious murderbots. It's one of those dialouge options I have to straight up ignore, along with the ones where you can bash Daro'Xen's ideologies and call her a lunatic.

Bioware made the assumption that we'd all agree with their narrative that AI's are people too.

Probably the same thing you'd expect if your computer froze or otherwise malfunctioned and you tried to unplug it (i.e. not it and every other computer in existence going full terminator). You have to remember that the quarians weren't even intentionally creating AI's with the geth, their research was within the bounds of Council laws at the time, as was the response to destroy the technology when it developed in an undesirable direction.

Either way, the Paragon option seems more like anthropomorphizing the geth and the Renegade one rather takes the same position as the Council in chastizing the quarians for the situation without actually showing support for the geth. There should have been a neutral option to simply allow her to continue narrating the conflict rather than judging.

If my computer asked if it had a soul and I was dumb enough to attack it then yeah I deserved that backfire especially when it's fully capable of taking me out. And it may have been but once the Geth reached sentinence that was no longer the case. Their reaction to destroying the technology once it became sentinent was a decision they made that blew up in their faces (and would again each time they made it until either Shepard decided to bail them out or they finally get mauled to death.) And then to top it off not only did they make that decision but they lacked the ability to follow through then ran crying to the council. So malicious and weak.

That said I agree neutrality would've been nice. That's not the only conversation you can't get that in though.
