I do not know. But, if reapers were Milky Way exclusive solution, it also means that in others galaxies was no cycle. In our galaxy evolution of civilizations was broken countless times every 50.000 years In Andromeda there was no stop, no break. There my be super-intelligent machines that evolved millions year ago, or primaeval organics that solved conflict with synthetics, or even mixture of both.
Andromeda is much bigger environment -> more potential to create multiple permutations of evolutionary cycle, than Milky Way and it does not suffer Reapers/Catalyst solution.
There might be entity in there that is so much advanced to us as we are more advanced to mouses or even lesser species.
