You want Bioware to completely abandon singleplayer just because you "don't care anymore"?
Best. Argument. Ever. ![]()
I have now lost another small bit of my faith in humanity.
As for reasons, I believe the post above me sums my reasons up rather well.
Oh, did I mention that I disagree? If I want a multiplayer experience, I can always hop on PlanetSide, or even ArmA and either 360 noscope my way through the battlefields of Auraxis, or be my usual creepy self as I kill everything in sight without it ever knowing I was there on whichever terrain I decide to play on.
As many before, the main selling point (and the main reason I went so far as to actually commonly appearing on the forums) for me was a strong story. If I didn't long for a story, lore, and universe, I'd still be stuck just shooting everything up in ArmA sessions that have none of it.
I respectfully disagree. One of the main things in Mass Effect has been the story, the characters and the consequences of your actions. If you take that away that it's barely mass effect anymore, it's just a different game with the mass effect title slapped on. What the OP suggests might be a good idea for a new IP but mass effect is primarily a single player game and I think it should stay that way.

did I say ABANDON? or did I say "FOCUS" these are two different things read it again.
No.
Simply No.
There are so many Multiplayer games out there, choose one of those.
Maybe they could get some other Team to release a Standalone MassEffect Multiplayer Game, based on the ME3 Multiplayer, but please please please don't let anything Multiplayer related divert any Resources away from the storydriven Singleplayer Modus that brought everyone to this Series in the first Place.

Hmmm that would be a better choice to be honest. I'd rather spend my money on pure Mass Effect Multiplayer than 60$ on a story full of plot holes. MAKE IT HAPPEN BIOWARE. I think I should alter the title.
As long as there's no PvP and plenty of character and map options I'll be happy

We can add pvp but not mandatory... you know for people who likes to tea bag and get tea bagged. We need more different modes and I agree with the person above to make ME Multiplayer stand alone. Now ordinary people may say this is a crap move since they paid for SP they expect MP to come with it... I beg to differ. SP is the reason why MP is held back in ME3. By doing a MP focused standalone ME game it should get the proper funding and resources/development it need in Frostbite engine. It may even rival other top Multiplayer games out there
I overwhelmingly prefer SP story based games over MP, however, in the case of ME:A I'd rather they just focused on the coop MP.
Would I like an amazing SP experience? Hell yes! Is it going to happen? Nope. BioWare demonstrated as much when they sacrificed the MEU to make ME3. I no longer believe in the ability of their current writers to tell a compelling story, and frankly as a result of their actions in ME3, just don't care.
ME3 MP was the only thing that made me not regret my purchase. If I could buy ME:A without the SP component I would do so without question. Given that this is exceedingly unlikely, I'd rather the ME team devote more resources to what they did right and not waste them on things they couldn't even accomplish when most of their resources were spent on them.
The MEU is dead, but a fun coop game might still be wrought from it's corpse.
The assertion that multiplayer is the future of gaming was made long ago and disproved very quickly there after.
Which isn't to say that multiplayer shouldn't be added.
But it does say this..... The SP is what brings people into the ME universe. The MP is a way to fuel microtransactions and competitive and cooperative gameplay. Fortunately ME3 was more forgiving on the, get packs front, than DA3's MP. And given that Bioware's balancing of DA3's MP lead towards a greater reliance on acquiring health boosts..... Well we'll see how they balance the MP in ME4.
But one thing needs to outlined in gold writing and underlined. MEMP is a diversion from the core SP game. It's great Bioware are making something for the MP hounds but Bioware's focus and drive needs to be on not alienating their fanbase they built up with strong titles that focused on story and narrative.
If they deliver on the SP with the MP added, it'll be great for all ocncerned. If we get another Catalyst moment however people will point at the money spent on the MP aspect and ask why did they bother when they could have used the money to bring in extra hands to render a better SP campaign? Or even just forgo MP all together and thereby lower the cost of production?
Personally I hope BW will deliver on both fronts, but it'll be the SP mode I'll focus on first.
Just please, no more score point system like war assets that turns my gains into numbers. If I recruit a Krogan army, I expect to wage war along a group of Krogan soldier's in a battle worthy of Krogan song. Not the toy soldier's standing at attention that we then never see again...... And don't get me started on the Rachni not popping out of the ground and wrestling a brute under the Earth.
Why do people always engage MP trolls?

I Agree. I am willing to drop 60 bucks on a full blown well polished MASS EFFECT Multiplayer with mod support or tons of maps and modes. It would be great to see instead of the usual CS GO or generic multiplayer games out there... Mass Effect Multiplayer in different maps in Andromeda and Milkyway highly competitive or even co-op based basically everything you can think off complete with customization. This is a win if done right
GREAT! Another Call of Duty fanboy who wants to screw up another legendary title. Not. Going. To. Happen.
Never really got into trash talking. Even while winning it seems pointless to me. But anyway, I really would rather the multiplayer feel repetitive than for the story to suffer in account of focusing on multiplayer. Mass effect is my favorite franchise, I just don't care for online multiplayer games. And when it has my favorite story/characters out of any game, it'd be tough for me to accept it shifting to mp focusHorde mode is great but it gets quite repetitive. The closest thing we can geth (lol) to capture the flag is "bring the device back" no imagine against real players xD ohhh the chaos and trash talking hahaha

CALL OF DUTY FANBOY? haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA

I'd argue that ME3 SP has more in common with CoD than ME3 MP. The quality of writing is the same. The quality of MP is not. :3

You may be, but the vast majority is not. MP-only games that are not part of a huge, well-known franchise (BF, SW, CS or COD) have to be F2P these days.
A standalone ME-MP game would die a horrible death. Because of all the biotic and tech powers, the gameplay is not really suited for PvP. People would rage-quit in droves. And Coop-only is not enough for a price of 60 USD/EUR.

wow you must be from the future to come up with such accurate statistics
insurgency, Payday2 and Red Orchestra says hi.
Nonetheless, it's a dumb idea and your motivation is still bad.
aaannnnnddd why? I never said abandon SP altogether. Lmao did I rustle your jimmies too hard with this thread?
I'd only be interested in PvP in a Mass Effect MP game if there's friendly fire... with all the explosions it would be nearly as stupidawesome as Magicka.

that would be hardcore mode
