I respectfully disagree. One of the main things in Mass Effect has been the story, the characters and the consequences of your actions. If you take that away that it's barely mass effect anymore, it's just a different game with the mass effect title slapped on. What the OP suggests might be a good idea for a new IP but mass effect is primarily a single player game and I think it should stay that way.

I'd absolutely be down with that. It wasn't that long ago that Mass Effect was a new IP. It took off because it was good. Andromeda would have been in the same boat. If anything, I'd probably have been more interested in Andromeda than I am now if it was its own IP. I expect most of the broken lore and plot holes will come from continuity with previous games rather than anything internal.Why call Andromeda Mass Effect? why not a whole new IP? You know, I could use some good SciFi MMO with Mechanics that are not WoW in Space for my PC right now, especially since I liked the Way the Stories for the most Classes were handled in SWToR. Make it happen, BioWare.

I hardly ever log in but I just had to so I could say how much I disagree with you. What you want is so much further away from what I want in the next Mass Effect. Mass Effect Andromeda should remain focused entirely on the single player experience. I don't mind multiplayer as long as it doesn't take anything away from the singleplayer.

I don't want them to stray too far from the formula. ME3's MP was great. Just give us lots of maps, guns and characters with the same structure.
(But of course all the focus should stay in SP. I feel like I should say this because even DAI was originally meant to be MP only/MMO even though that was the last thing fans wanted)

Multiplayer is already done, don't worry.
It is basically beta-status and only needs a few days of testing before the release.
(Wasn't that hard to do, they took DA:I-MP and simply put a reskin on it.)

Whiny? I don't see multiplayer fans in literally every single thread about singleplayer content, from gaylien romances to wardrobe and hair customization, crying about things that have nothing to do with the thread title. Yet I only have to look a few posts above this one to find the classic and completely inaccurate SP complaint.....

Fair enough. Personally I would prefer it if Bioware instead spend there time developing single player focused games instead, but hey, each to their own.
This. I'd rather BW focus on something they can do right.I overwhelmingly prefer SP story based games over MP, however, in the case of ME:A I'd rather they just focused on the coop MP.
Would I like an amazing SP experience? Hell yes! Is it going to happen? Nope. BioWare demonstrated as much when they sacrificed the MEU to make ME3. I no longer believe in the ability of their current writers to tell a compelling story, and frankly as a result of their actions in ME3, just don't care.
ME3 MP was the only thing that made me not regret my purchase. If I could buy ME:A without the SP component I would do so without question. Given that this is exceedingly unlikely, I'd rather the ME team devote more resources to what they did right and not waste them on things they couldn't even accomplish when most of their resources were spent on them.
The MEU is dead, but a fun coop game might still be wrought from it's corpse.
