New Loading Screen Tips

I am building into my ModMaker tool some new loading screen tips to replace the old worthless ones we've had for years.

What would be a good tip (serious)? Also, it'd need to be in all the game languages if possible.

I've got about 8 talking about ModMaker and objective tips (how to pizza run) so I'm looking for some less known tips or trivia. (E.g. geth engineer and juggy turrets are different strengths)

Here's the current list:

  • Did you know that the stock Geth Juggernaut Turret has half the shields of the Geth Engineer's? In ModMaker mods they are both set to 1000.
  • To run with the object on the carry objectives, hold your run key while looking down. After you start to sprint, and rapidly tap your pickup button so the pickup icon stays on screen when dropped and your character picks it up again without stopping.
  • On assassination objectives, killing a group of enemies at the same time may make the next target be weaker than the last one as it has a pool of enemies to choose from.
  • With ModMaker mods, every mod includes Polonium Rounds I-IV, the Chakram Launcher Assault Rifle, and Vibration Damper gear in the store.
  • If this mod has the unavailable maps enabled, to use them with others you must select them and start the match, and have others join in progress. If they join in lobby the map will reset to default and they will be marked as unavailable.
  • With ModMaker, you can fork mods such as this one and customize aspects of it without having to recreate all the aspects.
  • The Rank 5 Headshot bonus for the Tactical Scan upgrades does absolutely nothing, do not spec into it.
  • Flying Praetorians will raise a shield to block incoming projectile powers. While the shield is up all powers are negated. Get near a flying praetorian to force it to land.
  • Armored enemies take greatly reduced damage from non-projectile weapons. Equip armor piercing weapon mods and ammo to negate some of this effect.
  • Projectile weapons don't benefit from Armor Piercing bonuses
  • Some weapons, such as the Acolyte, do different amounts of damage to different types of health, shields, and barriers.
  • Enemies that can sync-kill have to melee before they can do it. These animations can be interrupted, so keep your distance.
  • The Locust, Geth Pulse Rifle, Valkyrie, Kishock Harpoon Gun, Graal Spike Thrower have a special headshot multiplier of 3x instead of 2.5x, while the Suppressor gets 4x.
  • Headshot bonuses for bosses are set to 1.4x, while normal enemies get 2.5x for most weapons.
  • To hit a guardian with a projectile power, cast the power while looking at them and then immediately look about 90 degrees away. The arc will cause it to fly behind the shield.
  • Combat Drone\'s zap attack attracts the attention of enemies that pay attention to pets. Cast it continuously into a group to permanently distract enemies.
  • Shockwave\'s Rank 4B (Impact Radius) is bugged and will cause the power to stop working after a few uses.
  • When playing as the N7 Destroyer Soldier and running with the retrieve objective, turn off Devastator Mode to move faster.
  • Captain Anderson was born in London.

Explaining more bugged power evolutions would be swell. And explaining poorly worded evolutions like cluster grenades extra damage to "lifted" targets.

I'll have to look up the actual correct responses. Stuff like the clusters like I mentioned, shockwave radius evo being bugged, I know snap freeze is bugged differently for each character (or bugged for one but not the other), explaining stair cheese, phantom and banshee bubble triggers and effects, removing missile launcher, thermal clip damage boost, and being able to keep marksman boosts even after it runs out if you don't let off the trigger are others off the top of my head.

Warp ammo "lift" damage explanation.  Something like "warp ammo gets a significant bonus to biotically primed targets.  If you create a biotic explosion on a primed target, this bonus ammo damage goes away"

But if they charge you, backpedal as much as you can, because you were in range when the charge began.

Piercing not working on projectile weapons, maybe info about praetorian bubbles. Edit- maybe something about how enemy armor nerfs your damage.

"Flying Praetorians will put up bubbles to block powers used against them. This immunity lasts until the bubble disappears on its own a short time later. Get in close to a flying Praetorian to get it to land first before using powers on it." "Armored enemies take greatly reduced damage from hitscan weapons. Equip armor penetrating mods and ammo to get some of the damage back. Projectile weapons don't suffer this reduced damage, and don't benefit from piercing mods and ammo." Something like that maybe.

Biotic explosions are not affected by gear or power evolutions that modify power damage. They are only affected by the number of evolutions taken in the priming and detonating powers.

Seriously, it's literally my biggest pet peeve.  Stop throwing incinerate at her while I'm trying to deal actual power damage.

Pressing the medi gel key as soon as a new thermal clip is chambered will cut the tail end of the animation, reducing overall reload time.

 

Positioning your character behind left hand cover allows you to engage enemies on the right hand side of the screen without them being able to fire back.

 

Unless the weapon has innate penetration, when taking more than 1 armor piercing mod, total penetration distance will stack but the weakest armor piercing value will apply. (Correct me if I'm wrong on this one)

 

Banshees can not sync kill if there's an elevation difference b/w her and her target. Ramps are your friend.

 

Dragoons can not dodge projectile powers. The combat roll is just there for decoration.

 

Bombers are immune to overload. Because **** you and your happiness.

 

And the biggest tip there is: If you wanna git gud, read the ME3MP resource library on BSN.

The Geth Spitfire Assault Rifle will slow down the movement speed of most characters.

 

Keep your distance from a Phantom that has recently initiated a melee attack.

 

The Geth Juggernaut Soldier is immune to sync-kills.

 

The Geth Juggernaut Soldier has the highest amount of shields, but lacks speed.

 

When an Abomination is too close to avoid its explosion, it is best to let it grab you and then shake it off to instantly kill it. 

 

Use the Geth Scanner gear to scan through walls to see incoming enemies.

 

& lastly...

 

Listen to yourself...you're indoctrinated.

When wielded by a Turian.

With the big Mod Manager update I've done I finally got it working again after like 5 hours of refactoring all sorts of stuff. I'm about to test the new tooltips.

There's Polonium IV?  I don't think I have ever seen it.

Laser on geth engineer turret does 500 damage. Geth Juggernauts does 1000 if I recall... Or something like that. one is double the other.

There are "Exalted Plains" in DAI - I wonder if this is a reference to Krogan worship of the "Inclined planes". Thoughts?

so: don't spec for flamer on the Juggernaut ??

btw, I already wrote somewhere that the engineer turret has double shields according to tooltipps (unlike kalence)

Is that hard to finalize one tip ?

 

"don t spec paladin snap freeze 6B as it does nothing. On the other hand, reach 4B double Cryo explosion damage prime by SF"
